Bremen

Bremen is a city in the north of Germany. It is the capital of the state of Bremen. It has about 545,000 inhabitants.
The city ist today carrying the name Hansestadt (hanseatic city) in memory of its history, where it has been important part in the hanseatic league. The arcitecture of the city and the region as well is influenced by this historic period.
Other hanseatic cities today are: Hamburg, Rostock, Wismar, Stralsund, Lübeck, Greifswald and Demmin.
