A power station is a place where electricity is produced. Power stations can do this in many ways, including:
- Burning coal, oil or gas
- Using radioactive sources
- Using Hydropower, that is the power of falling water to drive turbines
- Using the wind to drive turbines
- Using the sun's rays to generate power
- Using geothermal energy, that is the heat at the core of the earth
to name a few..
There are many power stations around the world, because many things need electricity to work.
