Veganism
From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Veganism is a philosophy that says people should not hurt animals. Part of veganism is living a vegan lifestyle. Vegans do not eat food that comes from animals including meat, eggs, dairy products (like milk, cheese, and yogurt). Some vegans do not eat honey, but this is an animal food that some vegans do eat. Vegans also try not to use any products that come from animals such as leather, wool, feathers, bone, or pearl. They also try to avoid products that have been tested on animals. Most vegans support animal rights.
Other reasons to become vegan is to become more healthy, to protect the enviroment, for religious reasons, or to stop the world hunger problem. Because it takes a lot of vegetable food to make very little animal products, approximately 80% of the food is being wasted. This wasted food could go to the third world.
