Windows Vista
From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Windows Vista is the next version of Microsoft Windows after Windows XP from Microsoft. It was codenamed Longhorn, but on July 28, 2005, Microsoft announced it would be called Vista.
Microsoft has worked on Vista for more than five years so there are many things that are new to Windows, but that other operating systems already have. It has new features like a thumbnail tab view, so you can actually see what a program is doing. It will include many programs like a calendar you can put events on, and the computer will tell you when those events are near. It will also help prevent computer virus infections and other problems that have been common with Windows.
Vista was released in November 2006 for business editions and January 2007 for consumer (home) editions.
Vista needs at least 1 GB of RAM to run smoothly.
