Tarar is a Jat gotra of Northern India and Pakistan.

[edit] Geographical distribution
In Pakistan, Tarars are found in the Punjab province. In India, they inhabit the states of Haryana, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh . In Haryana Tarars are found in Dhani Miran and Bhiwani.

The Tarars of Pakistan are Muslims whereas the Tarars of India are Hindus.

There are dozens of Tarar young professional engineers/students who came from Pakistan and settled in various European countries .They are in Sweden,Germny and U.K. Engineer Zulfiqar Ali Tarar and Engineer Bilal Noor Tarar holds the important positions in Germany,while Jehan Zeab Tarar and Mustafa Tarar not only gained their higher education from Sweden and U.K but also they are key member of their family Business team.This Tarar family spread his business in all over the Europe and Pakistan and trend shows that there is no sign of slowing.

Tarars in Pakistan are primarily Muslim and are settled on both sides of river Chenab near Head Qadirabad in Distt. Mandi-Bahauddin, Tehsil Phalia and Tehsil Hafizabad. Among Jatt clan Tarars are very well educated and they hold important positions in politics, Governments and different profesional fields.Total polulation of Tarar in Pakistan is just few thousands but their contribution in national and international level is relatively very high.
Pakistani Tarars are a progressive clan as are Tarars from India. Tarar is a clan that has the ability to be both a political and a religious force. Tarar is considered to be a sub-cast of Kashatriya, who is thought to be the original off-spring of Lord Shiv.
The purpose of this section ought to be to collect and share both intellectual and academic knowledge of the Tarar clan. It should not be an advertisement for individuals.
