Trends in Cell Biology
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Trends in Cell Biology (TCB; ISSN: 0962-8924) is a monthly review journal and is one of fourteen Trends titles in the life sciences published by Elsevier.
Since its launch in 1991, TCB has been updating researchers and students alike on the recent developments and emerging themes across a broad range of subjects and disciplines, all of which share a common goal to understand the structure, function and living processes of cells and their interaction with their environment. The study of cell biology is closely linked with genetics, biochemistry, molecular biology, immunology and developmental biology. Consequently, TCB also covers areas of interface between cell biology and these disciplines. The aim of the journal is to produce accessible articles that are an essential resource for researchers but also inform and inspire students and researchers in other areas.
The format of the journal consists of two main article types: Reviews and Opinion articles. Opinions are of a similar length to Reviews but have a greater scope for hypothesis and personal perspective. Shorter news-style Research Focus articles are also occasionally included. Articles are written by leaders in their field and are peer-reviewed before publication to ensure timely, authoritative and accurate content.
Topics covered include:
• Cell growth and proliferation
• Cytoskeletal dynamics, cell adhesion and migration
• Cellular signalling
• Cell death and the stress response
• Regulation of gene expression
• Membrane dynamics
• Nuclear structure and function
• Developmental mechanisms
• Protein trafficking and metabolism
• Aspects of plant biology, neuroscience and immunology
