General elections were held in Trinidad and Tobago on 7 October 2002. The elections were held early as the 2001 elections had produced a hung parliament.

The People's National Movement won just over 50% of the vote and 20 seats in the 36-seat parliament. The remaining 16 seats were won by the main opposition party, the United National Congress won 16 seats. PNM leader Patrick Manning was re-appointed Prime Minister.
