Unplugged is a live album by American R&B/soul singer and pianist Alicia Keys. It was recorded as part of the television program MTV Unplugged on July 4, 2005 at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, in Brooklyn, New York City, and released on October 11, 2005 in the United States (see 2005 in music). It debuted on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart at number one, selling over 245,000 copies worldwide in its first week (196,000 in the U.S.) – the highest debut for an MTV Unplugged album since Nirvana's 1994 MTV Unplugged in New York and the first Unplugged by a female artist to debut at number one. It was nominated for five Grammy Awards in 2006, including "Best R&B Album".
The first single released from the album was "Unbreakable", which peaked on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 at number thirty-four, and number four on the U.S. Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. The second single, "Every Little Bit Hurts", was released in January 2006. The video premiered on January 17 on BET's 106 & Park.
This album has been released with the Copy Control protection system in some regions.
