Valenza (Valensa in Piedmontese) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Alessandria in the Italian region Piedmont, located about 80 km east of Turin and about 11 km north of Alessandria. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 20,489 and an area of 50.0 km2.[1]
The municipality of Valenza contains the frazioni (subdivisions, mainly villages and hamlets) Villabella and Montevalenza.
Valenza borders the following municipalities: Alessandria, Bassignana, Bozzole, Frascarolo, Giarole, Mirabello Monferrato, Pecetto di Valenza, Pomaro Monferrato, San Salvatore Monferrato, Suardi, and Torre Beretti e Castellaro.
