[edit] Corporate
Venere.com is operated by Venere Net S.p.A and was founded in 1995 by Marco Bellacci (current CEO), Matteo Fago, Renata Sarno and Gianandrea Strekelj. The company is owned by its founders and by the venture capital fund Kiwi II. Subsidiary offices are located in London, UK and Paris, France.
[edit] Business model
Venere Net operates a commission based business model, contrary to the merchant model operated by other major online travel agencies. The property client portfolio is the result of direct agreements between Venere Net and the property and not from access to traditional channels such as Global distribution systems (GDS), Computer reservations systems (CRS), or tour operators.
