WRUA is a full-power television station licensed to Fajardo, Puerto Rico transmitting over analog channel 34 and digital channel 33. The station is owned by Eastern Television Corporation.
WRUA carries the Citytv branding and programming, under a licensing agreement with Toronto-based CHUM Limited. WRUA airs Citytv programs such as SexTV and FT-Fashion Television. This is Citytv's first station on American soil, and the second Spanish-language Citytv station (Bogotá, Colombia has the other).
The new WRUA will also have a local newscast, though its unclear if that would be launched with the Citytv name. [1]
Before the switchover to Citytv, WRUA was originally a station belonging to the Encuentrovision religious network. This programming can still be seen on WECN.
