As Western Sahara is largely under Moroccan administration there is no country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Western Sahara, but .eh is reserved for that purpose. IANA has no sponsoring organizations assigned to this domain.
These letters were chosen as an abbreviation for Saguia el-Hamra, one of two provinces in the earlier Spanish Sahara[1]. (Or possibly, from "Sáhara Español", as Western Sahara was previously called Spanish Sahara)
