Westmount is one of Saskatoon's 5 older communities. Westmount features character homes built in the first construction period before 1946, and the neighborhood filled out before 1960. Mature trees and diverse culture make their home here.[2]

Within the Core Neighbourhoods Suburban Development Area (West Side), the neighborhood of Westmount is bounded to the north by 31st Street and 22nd Street on the south. Avenue H through to Avenue P are the west and east boundaries respectively.

Nutana on the east side was the first area settled by Temperance Colonists, and soon ferry service across the South Saskatchewan River was established. The Regina-Battleford trail got a boost from this ferry. The area of Westmount was settled by homesteaders in 1884. [3]
Wstmount Community School is one of Saskatoon's original Castle Schools. Seven such collegiate gothic style schools were designed by Scottish Architect David Webster. [4]

Streets are laid out east and west, avenues are laid out running north and south. Streets increment in number as travel heads northward. Avenues increment alphabetically as travel proceeds west. The whole of the Westmount community is also laid out in a grid pattern.

Affordable New Home Development Foundation (ANHDF) and Ehrenburg Homes are developing the Elm Park Terrace project. Eleven affordable townhouses are being made available at Avenue K and 29th Street. Under the Centenary Affordable Housing Program (CAHP) - Homeownership Option families with low- to moderate-incomes can become successful homeowners. households.[5] [6]
Oliver Lodge is getting an awesome renovation. $13 million will add 138 more beds and 88 rooms to this special care home in the Westmount neighborhood. [7]
Westmount Community School is privileged to become one of the Community Access Points for Internet Access. Industry Canada's Community Access Program has contributed $272,000 into 16 Public Internet Access Sites which are hosted by the Saskatoon Public School Division. [8]

- David Newsham is an explempary soccer player who started his career with the Westmount Juniors. He was nominated to the Saskatoon Hall of Fame in 1989 in recognition of his contribution to the soccer community. [10]

22nd Street (Highway 14) is a major throroughfare through Saskatoon Highway 14 connects with Asquith, Biggar Wilkie, Unity, and Macklin enroute to Alberta.
