Hayao Miyazaki
Hayao Miyazaki (宮崎 駿 Miyazaki Hayao; Tokio, 5 januari 1941) is een van de bekendste makers van anime oftewel Japanse tekenfilms. Tevens maakt hij manga.
In het westen kreeg hij pas echt bekendheid door zijn werk Spirited Away, dat in 2003 de Oscar kreeg voor Beste Animatiefilm. In Japan werd de anime zo druk bezocht dat hij de film Titanic van de eerste plaats verdrong.
Studio Ghibli bracht in 2001 zijn belangrijkste werk uit op een 6 DVD collectie met alle tot dan toe van hem uitgebrachte Ghibli films.
