Arnold Joseph Toynbee (ur. 14 kwietnia 1889 w Londynie, zm. 22 października 1975 w Nowym Jorku) – brytyjski historiozof; autor dwunastotomowego dzieła pt. Studium historii.

Jego wujem był znany historyk ekonomii, Arnold Toynbee. Kształcił się w Winchester College oraz Balliol College w Oksfordzie. Karierę nauczycielską rozpoczął w 1912 roku; pracował na Uniwersytecie Londyńskim (University of London), w Londyńskiej Szkole Ekonomicznej (London School of Economics) oraz Królewskim Instytucie Spraw Międzynarodowych (Royal Institute of International Affairs).
Podczas I wojny światowej pracował w Departamencie Wywiadu brytyjskiego MSZ. Z ramienia tej instytucji został w 1919 roku wysłany na konferencję pokojową w Paryżu. W czasie kolejnej wojny światowej również pracował dla brytyjskiego MSZ.
Żonaty dwukrotnie: po raz pierwszy z Rosalindą Muray; rozwiedziony ożenił się ponownie ze swoją asystentką Weroniką M. Boulter.
