C. J. Cherryh, pseudonim Caroline Janice Cherry (ur. 1 września 1942), amerykańska pisarka fantasy i science fiction.

Urodziła się w St. Louis w Missouri. W 1965 roku ukończyła filologię klasyczną. Debiutowała w 1976 powieścią Brama Ivrel. Jest siostrą artysty Davida A. Cherryego. Obecnie mieszka w Spokane w Waszyngtonie z pisarką Jane Fancher.
