[править] Question about Административный район города
On Железнодорожный район Екатеринбурга I read the word 'Административный район города'. What is the meaning of this kind of regions? Are they used for election purposes or do they have some kind of other administrative purpose (or both)? I'm asking this because divisions below 'Городской округ' have no municipal value (at least since the municipal reform or the last years). (multitran.ru gives the meaning 'ward' on english, but since this english word can have multiple meanings too, I would like to know what the administrative purpose is of this regions. --Hardscarf 09:28, 7 февраля 2007 (UTC)
- 'Административный район города' can be translated as "administrative district" and 'Городской округ' as "city district". Both can be used variously in different cities at different times and the meaning can change. In Moscow for example there exist "Административный округ" ("Administarative district") which is divided into several "Муниципальное образование" ("Municipal entity"). They all have elected institutions and heads. In Zelenograd though there is another step in between the two. --Nxx 01:24, 12 февраля 2007 (UTC)
- I mean about the current situation (after the municipal reforms). The situation in the federal cities (as you mentioned Zelenograd, which is part of Moscow) is different from other cities as there exist the Муниципальное образование "Внутригородская территория города федерального значения" which does not exist in other cities. [править] Lack of article on Crime and Punishment (Dostoyevski) in Russian

There are articles on the book "Crime and Punishment" by Dostoyevski in many languages, but not in Russian (although you have an article about one of the films). I think that is a shame that you have none in Russian; it is worth creating one because I think it looks bad when it exists in all these other languages. The reason I was looking although I do not speak much Russian was that I wanted to find a photo of the Russian edition of the book in order to illustrate an article on the Esperanto wikipedia. I’ve had the oddest request from the media so far… This journalist is looking for «attractive» wikipedians from the Russian Wikipedia and from African languages to interview/photograph for a story.

But, this request is for a very nice and serious book project; an illustrated book for the Bertelsmann Verlag in high quality and wide circulation. Hello. I'm UED77 from the Wikimedia Commons and there are some unfree images about the Ukrainian elections uploaded there (e.g. party logos, campaign posters...), and used in articles such as Выборы в Мариуполе, Парламентские выборы на Украине (2006), and Региональные выборы на Украине (2006) If the Russian Wikipedia allows fair use, then please upload them here locally, as they are soon to be deleted from the Commons. - The logos in question are privately by the party responsible for them, and they are probably copyrighted as well. It is against Commons policy to host files that do not provide free use and modification. The problem is mainly with the second one. That is why logos are not allowed in the Commons. However, they are very useful for the articles in question, so please upload them here if you can before they get deleted (I'm not the only one who can delete them). Hello, I am looking for a village or town in North Caucasus which is supposed to be named Chemen (ancient name Bazorkino). I found a place in Azerbaidjan but according to my reference, it is supposed to be in Russia. I was wondering if you knew such a place in Russia (I am suspecting my reference to have translated directly USSR form earlier documents into Russia). - There is a village called Chermen (село Чермен) in en:Prigorodny District, Republic of North Ossetia-Alania. It turns out that it is an Ingush village and until 1944 used to belong to Ingushetia (together with the District) and was called Bazorkino (Базоркино) then. The transfer of the territory is the source of the present-day tensions between the Ingush and Ossetians. --Neko 16:16, 11 ноября 2006 (UTC)

[править] Fake language on Wikipedia, language hoax
This: [1] is a hoax. There is no such thing as "Siberian language" or "Siberian Russian", this thing is made up and does not pass simple smell test. I was born and raised in Central Siberia, namely in Irkutsk, lived also in Novosibirsk, traveled all over Siberia but I have hard time understanding any of those articles and can assure anyone: you won't find any place in Siberia where people speak like this. How did this hoax pass the new language application process? Siberia is too big, there is too much variety to have some common language like this. A computer scientist from Novosibirsk and fur trapper from upper Yenisey won't have much in common, languagewise included.
