1548 Forth 2 is a United Kingdom radio station owned by Emap Radio.
Forth 2 broadcasts to Edinburgh, The Lothians and Fife and is based in Forth Street in Edinburgh’s city centre. The station is called '1548 Forth 2' on air, but 'Forth 2' is also used.

On 22 January 1975, Richard Findlay (the Radio Forth chairman) woke up the listeners of Edinburgh, The Lothians and Fife to the words: "This, for the very first time is Radio Forth". The first DJ on air was a man named Steve Hamilton who hosted the breakfast show.
In 1990, Forth was forced to use its AM service (as Radio Forth was being broadcast on both their FM and AM frequencies) so Max AM was launched. Radio Forth was renamed Forth FM which was mainly for the younger age group, while Max AM was for the 35+. Soon after this, Max AM was renamed to Forth AM to match its sister station.
In 2000, the two stations were both relaunched as 97.3 Forth One and 1548 FORTH2. Many changes occurred at this time, from new jingles to brand new DJs at the stations. Forth 2 was redesigned as an adult contemporary music station while Forth One continued to play Top 40 songs for the 35s and under.
Although Radio Forth is now owned by a British media group (EMAP), it was originally owned by Scottish Radio Holdings (or SRH) but that was taken over by EMAP on 3 June 2005. Forth continues to be local and mostly managed from Forth House in Edinburgh.

Forth News broadcasts bulletins every hour during peak times as well as summaries on the half hour during the breakfast and drivetime shows. Weather is also broadcast at the end of the news as well as being read out on the half hour. Paul Robertson is currently the head of news at Radio Forth as well as reading some bulletins. There 8 broadcasting journalists at present.

Sports bulletins are broadcast on Forth 2 numerous times throughout the day. Mark Donaldson is a regular presenter of the sport as well as being the main editor.

Travel news is also an integral part of Forth 2's output. Updates are read out regularly throughout the day and 15 minute updates occur during peak times
