"Biology" is a song recorded by the British pop girlgroup Girls Aloud. Released on November 14, 2005 and being the second single released from their third studio album Chemistry, the single saw a return to the top five singles chart in the UK for Girls Aloud. It featured an all-new song "Nobody But You", and also managed to reach number two in the UK download chart and was a charttopper on the UK iTunes Music Store (their biggest download hit to date).

"Biology" had increased popularity over the Christmas period, although it became confusing to the public as to whether it was the groups latest single. This was due to their next release hitting the shops under a month later.

In September 2006, the single followed in the footsteps of "No Good Advice" and "Wake Me Up" to become the winner of the Popjustice £20 Music Prize - beating Muse's "Supermassive Black Hole" and the Sugababes' "Push the Button."

"Biology" was described as "the best pop single of the last decade" in British newspaper The Guardian. [1]

"Biology" is built around the driving piano riff from The Animals' Club-a-go-go.

The music video for "Biology" consisted only of group shots.

The video began with a curtain being drawn back to reveal the band members posed in black jazz dresses as Nadine sang perched upon a black grand piano.

In a sequence of disjointed choreography, the girls changed into frilly pink and purple dresses as the scene changed to a room with flowery wallpaper with digitized butterflies floating by.

The band then changed into red and black outfits and black outfits as the scene changed twice more.

It peaked at number twenty-six in Australia and number four in the UK Official Singles Chart, eventually becoming the biggest seller for the groups third album and their 6th overall best seller. In the UK it has sold in excess of 108,000 copies.
