"Life Got Cold" was the third single released by UK pop group Girls Aloud from their debut album Sound of the Underground. It was their third consecutive top three hit in the UK, and the third top two hit in Ireland. It featured a cover of the Duran Duran song "Girls On Film" as the b-side, as well as remixes.

[edit] Criticism
Many reviewers insulted the track, alluding that the riff of the chorus ripped off the 1995 Oasis hit "Wonderwall". The similarities to the Oasis classic were noticeable, even though Girls Aloud dismissed the claims.
Oasis songwriter Noel Gallagher himself also reacted indifferently to the suggestion, commenting instead that; "We've been compared to The Beatles pretty often. Progression is going forwards. Going backwards is regression. Going sideways is just 'gression'."
[edit] Music video
The music video for "Life Got Cold" depicted the band members in still or stunted movement wandering around an abandoned city setting.
It is assumed that, at the time they were in New York City, though the video was filmed in a studio.
Both group and individual shots are shown in various scenes, including an abandoned bus, a kitchen, an alley, and a street curb.

[edit] Chart performance
There were two formats of the single released, although the second was very hard to come by in the first week of release with large music stores such as HMV having no stock until Thursday. Many fans believe this contributed to the track narrowly missing the #2 position. In the United Kingdom it has sold in excess of 80,000 copies, of which 31,963 copies were sold in its first week of release.
"Life Got Cold" was not the original choice for the group's third single. Polydor Records originally chose "Some Kind of Miracle" but that plan was dropped after a huge fan response to this release.
