"Whole Lotta History" is a pop song written by Xenomania for British group Girls Aloud's third studio album, Chemistry (2005). The song was produced by Xenomania and received a positive reception from music critics. It was released as the fourth single in the first quarter of 2006 and reached the top ten in the United Kingdom, where it became the group's twelfth top ten single. It reached the top twenty in Ireland; however, it failed to make a large impact on the singles charts elsewhere.

[edit] Music video
The music video for "Whole Lotta History" was filmed in Paris, France.
The video depicts each member of the band in a different setting reminiscing about a former love: Kimberley receives flowers inside of a café and apparently looks at her past boyfriend, Cheryl looks out of a window onto a street, Nadine looks through a photo album at a desk in a study, Nicola looks at herself in a mirror and Sarah walks alone along a river as couples pass by.
The group shot consists of all members sitting together in a lounge (in the room Nadine's section takes place) laughing and discussing past relationships.

[edit] Charts
On March 13, 2006, "Whole Lotta History" was released in the United Kingdom. Although the physical single was not released, the song was eligible to enter the UK Singles Chart on Sunday March 12, due to new chart rules, which allowed singles to enter the charts on the Sunday before its release based on download sales only. "Whole Lotta History" debuted at number eighty, before peaking at number six the following week (although it peaked at No.2 on the phyisical chart and ended up lower due to poor download sales).
The song became Girls Aloud's twelfth top ten single, and spent a total of five weeks in the top seventy-five. In the United Kingdom it has sold over 37,000 copies, of which 11,720 were sold in its first week of release, making it Girls Aloud's lowest selling single despite the lower chart placings of "Long Hot Summer" and "See The Day" (7 and 9) both went on to sell around 50,000. In Ireland, the song debuted at number eighteen on the singles chart, and spent a total of six weeks in the top fifty.
