In the beginning, there was a rule that dispute may be resolved after the 5 day deadline. The reason for this was partly that extremely well written Polish and Russian articles - as a rule - were subject of various disputes and quarrel. Right now, though, due to the substantial backlog of articles, I think we should apply this rule with some causion, and I'm not so sure that the expired articles such as Carla Thorneycroft, Baroness Thorneycroft's obituary (was it ever disputed?) may qualify. I respect a lot of the work you've done on Wikipedia, especially since I've dealt with some of the article you wrote on DYK. At the same time I'm appalled by your bickering in the discussion about the Battle of Wilno/Vilnius. You have grossly violated WP:CIV. One example of this: Irpen wrote: "My title is descriptive and neutral which is the option for the event for which no well-established English name exists" and you answered "You are being irrational. It does not matter how much you believe in whatever monstrosity you might have concocted. What matters is that nobody wants it" instead of giving a counter-argument to what he/she said.

As an innocent bystander, who just read the discussion by chance, I just wanted to make you aware of this in case you haven't noticed yourself and hope you can get your act together and contribute to a sensible discussion.

Thanks for the reminder. For your information I subscribe to 1RR policy (meaning, I do not engage in revert wars with editors who revert my good faith edits), however I do get upset when it happens – like everybody else I suppose – and occasionally vent my frustration on Talk pages. Usually though, I stay away from flash points for that exact reason.

P.S.: You might be interested in seeing how my character was assassinated in the following edits as the result of my contributions to Talk:Battle of Wilno (1939), including the personal statement of one editor rephrased by another editor [1] and than moved around to prove his point. A belated sorry for this - I was involuntarily disruptive: I had not read the entire portion of text, and it seemed to me like the authors were themselves contending that Ireland was an exporter (I actually never knew that people commonly believe that it was...). Could you please tell me why you deleted the entry "Wapiennik"? It was a surname entry, and also a word in Polish. I thought surname stubs are allowable. I saw others with far less information on them.

Sorry about this. Another user didn't think the topic of the article was notable, so he made a disambiguation page out of it. Hello Carabinieri. I see that, after you user name, you speak German ;) Anyway, I just hit you by chance and I was reminded of the above mentioned article, which is a translation of 1911 (yes, that's not a typo, 1911) Encyclopaedia Britannica and, thus, is of little use since it regards Albania as a Turk possession and communism hasn't even arrived there, let alone vanished.

Still, there is a German article with updated info in this topic. I would only like to know whether you have the time, the energies or, simply, know someone that might, to do this translation: it is not a long article by all means.

If all you can do is add some template asking for translation (I have seen some of those around, but I can't remember when or where) then, please do.

I would be happy to translate the article. The only problem is I'll be pretty busy the rest of this week and then I'll be on vacation for two weeks. So I might take about a month to get it done. In connection to this comment, I am responding here because the thread was removed from the page. I disagree with your characterization that while "legitimate, Soviet presence was the not legal in a formal sense". Legality issue here is very confusing. There is a whole mix of the international law, national laws and the laws of warfare. Advancing through a territory, occupied by the enemy in order to defeat the country that invaded you in the first place is an entirely legitimate action by the code of warfare. The agreement of the allies had the provisions of the military presence of their armies throughout Europe, as far as the international law is concerned. The issue at hand, is that the treaty that signed in 1956 was regulating further Soviet military presence. It being not formally regulated does not make it "not legal in a formal sense". I ammended the hook so that it sticks to fact and leaves the issue of "legal/not legal" out of this. --Irpen 21:47, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

I guess the way you phrased it, the entry is probably the least controversial. But I don't think that anyone will disagree that according to Polish law having foreign guys with weapons in the country was illegal until they were formally granted the right to in 1956.
