Creatures in the Metroid Prime series
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is a list of creatures in the Metroid series games Metroid Prime, Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, Metroid Prime Hunters, and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.
[edit] Metroid Prime
[edit] Auto Defense Turret
An automatic turret that opens fire on any enemy that comes within its range. Found in numerous locations throughout the game. It can be frozen.
[edit] Mega Turret
Similar to the Auto Defense Turret, but reinforced with energy shielding by the Space Pirates. The new shielding and increased beam strength makes the Mega Turret an efficient point defense weapon.
[edit] Beetle
Burrowing insects found in the Chozo Ruins and Tallon Overworld which often attack in groups. The insects burrow no less than ten feet below the surface of Tallon IV, and surface to ram intruders once their presence is confirmed.
[edit] Ice Beetle
Beetles which have adapted to life in the subzero temperatures of Phendrana Drifts, notably through the attainment of a thick ice shell. The ice is extremely resilient, and provides the Ice Beetle with augmented digging abilities.
[edit] Plated Beetle
Very much like its smaller relative, the Plated Beetle will attack any intruders by ramming them. Plated Beetles are stronger than normal Beetles, and are made more difficult to injure by a stronger exoskeleton that covers its front and sides, rendering them impervious to damage. Found mainly in Chozo Ruins, they can only be hurt by shooting their red abdomen with beams or missiles.
[edit] Blastcap
Found in Chozo Ruins and Tallon Overworld, the Blastcap is a mushroom-like plant that contains volatile chemicals, which explode if agitated. Its poisonous flesh prevents it from being eaten. The Blastcap leaves a toxic cloud behind when it is killed, like a Puffer. It is probably not, however, Meta-viprium gas.
[edit] Bloodflower
The Bloodflower is a large plant capable of ejecting poisonous spores. These spores are highly poisonous to creatures in their vicinity, including the plant itself. Three mouth-nodules protrude from the stalk beneath the flower, each with a rudimentary brain cluster and the ability to spew toxic fumes at anything with a five-meter radius. The Bloodflower is found only in Tallon Overworld.
[edit] Burrower
Similar to the Beetle in that it is also a burrowing insect predator, albeit one that spends a greater amount of its time underground. Due to this, the Burrower is only ever above ground for several seconds at a time, rendering it more difficult to attack. It is located in various places throughout the game.
[edit] Ice Burrower
The Ice Burrower is a Burrower that has adapted to the frigid climate of Phendrana. It spends most of its time tunnelling through the frozen soil, but occasionally surfaces to attack passers-by.
[edit] Chozo Ghost
Chozo Ghosts are Chozo warriors driven mad by Phazon, which causes them to be locked in their spectral state. These spectral entities can only be tracked reliably with x-ray scanning, as they phase in and out of existence. Their ghostly forms prevent injury from the elements, namely Samus' Wave, Ice, and Plasma Beams. They are usually invisible to the naked eye, and can only be seen as they conjure a phantasmal bolt to attack. They are only vulnerable to the Power Beam and Missiles, and can be found in religious sites in the Chozo Ruins, as well as in the Life Grove in the Tallon Overworld once the X-Ray Visor is acquired. A hissing-like sound lets the player know when and where a Chozo Ghost will be.
Prior to obtaining the X-Ray Visor, Chozo Ghosts are among the game's most difficult enemies; the first one to appear serves as a mini-boss of sorts, in much the same way as the Sheegoth of the Phendrana Drifts.
[edit] Crystallite
Small scavenger insects which use frozen water to form an icy shell on their backs, which provides resilience to some energy blasts. They build this shell by hanging upside-down during their larval stage, forming a stalactite on their backs. They travel around in a set pattern and are only vulnerable to missiles or the plasma beam. Found in Phendrana Drifts.
[edit] Eyon
An immobile organism that's entirely composed of ocular tissue. The Eyon is capable of launching sustained energy beams when active. However, it is sensitive to light and will close shut if a bright flash ignites nearby and can be completely destroyed by the charge beam.
[edit] Fission Metroid
A larval metroid that has undergone prolonged exposure to raw Phazon. Because of this mutation, they split into two. However, each metroid has a different beam-weapon weakness because of the 'unstable nature of raw Phazon.' The only way to kill a Fission Metroid without causing it to split in two is with a Power Bomb or the Phazon Beam.
[edit] Flaahgra
Flaahgra is a gargantuan mutant plant that is the source of the poisoned waters in the Chozo Ruins. Flaahgra looks similar to an extremely large bloodflower with four mouth-nodules instead of three. Flaahgra's energy comes from sunlight reflected from four dishes set around it. This exposure to sunlight has made its outer shell thick and durable. It attacks by swiping wildly with scythe-like arms and shooting a line of poison plants several metres in length. It is also capable of firing an energy beam. The only way to defeat Flaahgra is to change direction of the solar panels and lay a morph ball bomb inside its root system four times. After Flaahgra is destroyed, Samus receives the Varia Suit.
[edit] Flaahgra Tentacle
Whereas still technically a part of Flaahgra, the tentacles can be separately scanned within the game, and recorded as a different creature. These tentacles fill narrow drainage channels, and retract when Flaahgra is deprived of sunlight. They can damage Samus if she gets too close to one.
[edit] Flickerbat
Flickerbats are small enemies found in the Phendrana Drifts. They fly in large, circular hunting patterns, searching for insects and other small prey. Flickerbats earn their name from their ability to phase out of visibility, and require the X-Ray Visor to be tracked properly.
[edit] Glider
A Glider is a very peaceful creature incapable of doing damage to Samus or being destroyed. However, they possess a strange magnetic signature that allows grapple beam technology to attach to them, allowing the user to hang from the Glider as long as possible. This has resulted in a sport known as "Glider-riding", in which the participants use grapple beams to latch on to a Glider and hold on as long as possible.
[edit] Grizby
The carapace of the Grizby is quite powerful, being fused with superheated air. The carapace is invulnerable to most weapons, but concussive attacks (missiles) can destroy it with ease. They possess little intelligence, but do have scavenging patterns imprinted on its mind, resulting in set-pattern movement. They feed on carrion, and can be found in Magmoor Caverns.
[edit] Hunter Metroid
The adolescent form of the Metroid, Hunter Metroids are admittedly more dangerous because of an energy-siphon tentacle which they use to drain their prey from a distance. They are somewhat less resilient than the full-grown Metroid, but still a substantial threat. They also attack by ramming into their prey.
[edit] Hive Mecha
A large, bulbous security unit that resembles a totem pole head and which houses the Ram War Wasps; a design flaw makes it weak around the points where it discharges the attacking wasps. This weak point is revealed as a red light after all wasps on screen have been destroyed.
[edit] Incinerator Drone
The Incinerator Drone is a garbage disposal robot. It consists of a somewhat bulky vertical, heavily armored column that houses the majority of its parts, and rotating flamethrowers, placed opposite to each other. These flamethrowers are normally horizontal, but can tilt 45 degrees up or down and 90 degrees straight up when enough damage is done. The Incinerator Drone's armor is impervious to weaponry, but in order to locate garbage and prey it must raise a red optical sensor which is vulnerable to concussive blasts such as missiles. When this is hit, a column of flame is projected vertically into a nest of barbed war wasps, causing the angry barbed war wasps to attack. After shooting flames into the nest a few times the nest is incinerated.
[edit] Jelzap
The Jelzap is a type of carnivorous underwater sea creature found in Metroid Prime. Jelzaps are vaguely triangular in shape, with two electrically bound skeletal sections, the top containing the brain, and the bottom containing the heart and digestive tract. The Jelzap is at the top of the aquatic food chain on Tallon IV. To destroy one, players must wait until its middle core is revealed, then use the ice beam to freeze it and shatter it, or hit its core with a fully charged beam shot. While the energy core is revealed, it will pull Samus towards it.
[edit] Lumigek
The Lumigek are a race of reptilian creatures that have been charged with Phazon. They are native to Tallon IV, and travel in swarms, similar to Parasites to increase their chances of survival. Found in Impact Crater, they are constantly absorbing Phazon and radiating it, making them very dangerous.
[edit] Magmoor
Magmoors are lava serpents that dwell in the lava of the Magmoor Caverns beneath the crust of Tallon IV. These creatures are unable to see very well, however they do have a very accurate sonar. When prey is sensed they rear their heads from the lava and attack their prey with fire that they project from their mouth. When their skull has taken a large amount of damage, blood rushes to their head and it explodes.
[edit] Meta Ridley
After the events of Metroid, much of Ridley's body was either destroyed or critically injured. The remaining Space Pirates recovered any remains they could find, reconstructed his body, and improved it through metagenetics, as well as adding armor plating and cybernetic modules. These include a bomb projector, several missile launchers, and an oral ray. Some of his original organic body can be seen through his frame, but he appears to be heavily mechanical at this point. Deemed "Meta Ridley," he is first seen on the space frigate Orpheon, seemingly still connected to life support. Upon the frigate's destruction, Meta Ridley awakens, frees himself and heads towards Tallon IV, causing Samus to chase after him. Samus loses track of him, but he is seen a few times during the course of the game prior to battling him.
He is the last boss fought before Samus faces Metroid Prime. In this battle, Ridley spends much of the time flying, making long bombing runs across the sky. His only weak point is his chest. Once hit enough, his wings burn off and he resorts to mostly brute physical attacks, however his mouth-based energy beam weapon remains operational. in addition, he must be stunned by shooting his mouth multiple times before his vulnerable chest is revealed. The Wavebuster is highly effective on his ground form, preventing him from even attacking, although a continuous beam can cost about 210 missiles. After his defeat, the nearby Chozo statues shoot beams from their eyes into his chest, and he is sent falling off of a cliff and into the Phazon crater under the temple, where he summarily explodes.
[edit] Metroid Prime
A creature of unknown origin, it is genetically similar to Metroids but on a highly advanced level. It absorbs and produces the element Phazon in massive amounts, and absorbs Phazon limitlessly. It arrived on the meteor that brought Phazon to Tallon IV.
[edit] Oculus
The Oculus makes it home on walls, and generates electric pulses as a weapon. Its one eye is exposed when active. The electric pulse protects it from many predators, but when they sense anything that poses enough of a threat, they will retract into an indestructible shell.
[edit] Parasite
These small insects are native to Tallon IV and are dangerous in packs, although harmless by themselves. Their attacks do virtually no damage, but the resulting splatters can make it difficult to see. According to Space Pirate research entries and the Ice Parasite logbook data, Parasites are remarkably fast at adapting to new environments, becoming completely adapted to any change in their surroundings and (apparently) food supply in as little as three generations, although it is implied that exposure to Phazon greatly shortens this time.
[edit] Ice Parasite
This adapted form of Space Parasite, found in Phendrana Drifts, has a layer (coat) of ice covering its body. This form is more durable than regular Parasites, although it only takes a two shots to kill and they don't swarm like normal Parasites.
[edit] Parasite Queen
The first boss in Metroid Prime, the Parasite Queen is located on the Space Pirate Frigate. The Parasite Queen was made by genetically combining Phazon with the Parasite genome. As a result the Parasite Queen is huge and has the ability to shoot acid from its mouth. It can also create multiple Parasites very quickly. After three Parasite Queens escaped on the Space Pirate frigate Orpheon, they killed most of the crew. However, one was killed by being burned to death while another was killed in battle in the emergency evacuation area. The final one was fought and killed by Samus in the nuclear reactor of the ship. This was a grave mistake because as soon as the Parasite Queen was defeated it fell into the reactor core, causing a meltdown and ultimately the destruction of the frigate. Most of the Parasite Queen is quite resilient, but it can be injured by firing on its mouth, which is its weakest point. It is surrounded by rotating shields.
[edit] Plated Parasite
An armored variant of the space Parasites, Plated Parasites can only be harmed by Morph Ball Bombs and Power Bombs. They appear in abundance on the Spider Ball track that leads to the Plasma Beam. They appear to have acquired this armor through exposure to heat, as they appear only in Magmoor Caverns and the furnace in Chozo Ruins. Although there are always more than one of them, they don't technically swarm like Parasites do. Plated Parasites move in set patterns and seem to prefer crawling on spider ball tracks rather than non-magnetic surfaces, possibly indicating that their ability to crawl on vertical surfaces is based on magnetism.
[edit] Plazmite
The Plazmite is a small glowing insect, similar to a fire fly, that is attracted to sources of heat. Although it is not too dangerous, it can attack an enemy by ramming it. It often serves as a source of illumination in dark rooms, and destroying it can reduce visibility slightly. They are similar to the "Fireflies" found in Super Metroid.
[edit] Puddle Spore
A Puddle Spore is a lava mollusk that uses intimidation as a weapon. When approached, it will expand to great size in an attempt to strike fear into the trespasser. However, when it expands, its mantle is vulnerable and exposed to weapon fire, and if damaged at all, it will flip, allowing it to be used as a platform. If it shuts its shell before being damaged, it will release dangerous energy globules as an attack. The Puddle Spore can't be killed or destroyed, and after it is stunned it will eventually flip itself back over.
[edit] Puffer
A creature resembling the Bull, which floats in the air and emit small clouds of Meta-viprium gas. When they are killed, they explode and leave behind the same gas, which is highly damaging.
[edit] Plated Puffer
The Plated Puffer is in essentially just a Puffer, but Phazon exposure has mutated it, enforcing is skin with powerful plates. Their gaseous attack is the same as an ordinary Puffer, and although they are harder to destroy, missiles can still destroy them.
[edit] Pulse Bombu
A creature purely comprised of energy, possessing no intelligence except for an instinctive attraction to other powerful sources of energy. They periodically release explosive segments of their body (which glow a bright yellow while still attached), no matter what or who is in the area. The majority of these creatures reside in the Phendrana Drifts, although one is encountered in the tunnel linking the Sun Tower and Sun Chamber and invisible Pulse Bombus can be found in Phazon Mines. If Samus starts to charge up a beam, the Pulse Bombu will be pulled towards Samus. If it reaches Samus, it will latch on like a Metroid. Luring a Pulse Bombu into a body of water will instantly destroy it.
[edit] Reaper Vine
Reaper Vines are long, plantlike creatures with scythe-like tips that hide in recesses in walls throughout the Chozo Ruins. Only their eyes are vulnerable, although only a charged Plasma Beam can kill them. All other shots cause them to retract into their holes temporarily, which is really all that is needed to bypass them. They are believed to only be a part of a larger organism. Their appearance is similar to tentacles from Half-Life.
[edit] Aqua Reaper
The aquatic "cousins" of Reaper Vines meaning that they may or may not be actually related. They are long, tentacle shaped beings who have the exact same weaknesses as their dry land "relatives". Aqua Reapers do have one ability that Reaper Vines lack; they can grow vertically and swing their entire body, and are not limited to the horizontal, hacking motion that is the Reaper Vine's only defense. They too are believed to be part of a larger organism.
[edit] Sap Sac
The Sap Sac nearly met extinction due to its pleasant odor and sweet nectar, but a self-defense mechanism it developed saved it from death. An explosive chemical within the Sac protects it from most creatures seeking it for food. It can be destroyed by one shot from any weapon (except the Power Beam, which takes three shots), causing it to explode, damaging or killing everything within the blast radius, including other enemies.
[edit] Aqua Sac
Aqua Sacs are found in a few submerged areas of the Orpheon crash site in the Tallon Overworld. They are cousins to the Sap Sac, and defend themselves in much the same way. Unlike their dry land relatives, however, they do not explode violently; rather, they harmlessly break apart.
[edit] Scatter Bombu
This relative of the Pulse Bombu anchors itself to tunnel walls with three rotating tendrils of energy. Due to these energy tendrils, proximity to the creature may cause electrical interference with Samus's visor. When in Morph Ball form, they can be avoided by slipping between the energy streams. They can only be destroyed by overloading them with the electrical energy of the Wave Beam. Unlike the Pulse Bombus, it is capable of entering water without destruction.
[edit] Scarab
Small, blue bugs which travel in swarms and embed themselves in the ground when an enemy comes near. They violently explode when touched or shot at.
[edit] Seedling
Little is known about this creature, only that dorsal spines can extend from the creature in self-defense. They are plant based, and feed off nutrients in the ground.
[edit] Sentry Drone
Sentry Drones are well armed mechas that possess little real intelligence. However, due to them being machines, they are exceedingly vulnerable to electrical based attacks, and will self-destruct if destroyed by anything other than the wave beam. When intruders have been discovered, they initiate a lock-down of the area and attempt to neutralise the intruder(s). Their electronic warfare suite can scramble visor technology. They were built by the Space Pirates.
[edit] Aqua Drone
The Space Pirates adapted a number of Security Drones for underwater areas. These Drones use the same arsenal and possess intelligence similar to their land based counterparts. However, Pirates have continued to fail in protecting them from electrical attacks, and are therefore vulnerable to the Wave Beam. They appear in the Crashed Frigate once and can no longer be found afterwards.
[edit] "Cloaked Drone"
In the Phazon Mines, a lone Sentry Drone could be found guarding the Power Bombs, under the protection of a rather advanced cloaking device. It was especially vulnerable when firing, during which it could be instantly downed with a Super Missile. Use of the Wavebuster could destroy it as well, as the weapon automatically locks onto it. Technically any weapon could destroy it at any time by manually targeting its non-cloaked lights. Note that the Cloaked Drone has no official name, as it cannot be scanned.
[edit] Sheegoth
A Sheegoth is a creature that appears in Metroid Prime. Sheegoths are found in the Phendrana Drifts area of Tallon IV. They are bipedal reptile-like creatures with a large mouth filled with razor-sharp teeth. Baby Sheegoth have a shell formed from ice which they use to protect their vulnerable back. Baby Sheegoth are fairly resilient, as they are generally only susceptible to damage on their aforementioned backside. They constantly face their prey head on to make hitting their shell and exposing the flesh beneath difficult.
Adult Sheegoths can be distinguished by their larger size and spiked shells. The invulnerable spiked shell absorbs energy when beam weapons are fired at the creature. When an adult Sheegoth absorbs enough beam energy, it will fire it back at its enemy. Sheegoths can also blow super-cooled air from their mouth, freezing prey solid, though in beta versions of the game, a Sheegoth was seen breathing fire. Adult Sheegoths have poor endurance however, and hyperventilate after performing this attack, leaving their mouth and gills vulnerable to weapons fire. Their soft underbellies are also vulnerable to concussive blasts, meaning missiles and morph ball bombs. The Plasma beam is most effective against it, killing it in only a few hits.
[edit] Shriekbat
Shriekbats are a very territorial race of ceiling dwellers who has an amazingly high body temperature of 121 centigrade. Their high body temperature allows them to be easily spotted with thermal tracking. When intruders enter their territory, they will dive bomb the intruder, leading to their death but damaging the intruder at the same time. They can't change direction while in the air, so moving proves to be effective. They'll be destroyed when they hit something, and as firing at them in midair can be difficult, this can be easier. Alternatively, they can be shot while roosting.
[edit] Ice Shriekbat
Ice Shriekbats are a rare enemy that are identical in every way to a regular Shriekbat. They appear a few times in Phendrana Drifts, but disappear completely after players get the Thermal Visor. These traits often mislead newcomers to the game that they are common Shriekbats, causing them to miss out on the Logbook entry and ultimately fail to get a 100% scan record.
[edit] Space Pirate
A group of interstellar nomads, these beings raid ships and planets in a never-ending quest for galactic conquest. These troopers are the most common form of Pirate, and employ moderate (which, by Samus' standards, is light) shielding. They use energy scythes and Galvanic Accelerator Cannons. They occasionally hang from the ceiling before attacking. This is only one example of their agility, as they are fast enough to dodge lock-on weaponry, such as missiles.
[edit] Aqua Pirate
Aqua Pirates utilize many of the same weapons as their flying brethren. Their thruster-packs have been modified for aquatic use and they use technology similar to that used in Samus' Gravity Suit. As with Aerotroopers, the thruster-packs of Aqua Pirates are easily tracked with the Thermal Visor. These defects are partly apparent to the Space Pirates, who work to correct these problems.
[edit] Elite Pirate
Elite Pirates were developed after many experiments with Phazon on Space Pirates. Elite Pirates are roughly two or three times the size of normal Pirates and are highly dangerous at any range. They are also much less agile, unable to keep up the same pace as Samus let alone dodge missiles or hang from ceilings. Prior to Samus Aran's arrival on Tallon IV, Elite Pirates were to be rushed into mass production to launch attacks on all of the Space Pirates' enemies—however, these plans were abandoned after she destroyed their labs. The Elite Pirates have an energy-siphon system, allowing them to absorb beam weapon energy with hand-produced shields. They use this siphoned energy to fuel their massive Plasma Artillery Cannons. Concussive weapons (such as missiles) are more effective against Elites.
[edit] Pirate Aerotrooper/Flying Pirate
Pirate Aerotroopers, or flying pirates, are standard Space Pirates outfitted with missile launchers and jetpacks. They are quite agile and attack with the standard energy shots from above, much like a space pirate, as well as a stationary barrage of missiles. These jetpacks have a number of significant design flaws. They generate large amounts of heat, which easily reveals them via Samus' Thermal Visor. The jetpacks themselves also have a visible emission trail of exhaust, and also generate a large amount of noise. Lastly, the jetpacks are sensitive to any additional heat, which causes them to malfunction when under fire from the Plasma or Light Beams. When shot down, Aerotroopers will attempt a last-ditch kamikaze attack, spiraling towards their target and using the jetpacks as a detonation device. But, they will be immediately destroyed by a super missile or a charged plasma beam shot.
[edit] Ice Trooper
Ice Troopers wield reverse-engineered versions of Samus' Ice Beam gathered from the pirates' previous encounters with her. The use of her Ice Beam grants the Ice Trooper immunity from other beams, but renders them vulnerable to the Ice Beam. Charged fire causes them to freeze, allowing them to be dispatched with a missile. They are less agile than Space Pirates, possibly due to their additional armor, although they can still hang from ceilings.
[edit] Omega Pirate
Elite Pirate Upsilon, codenamed "Omega Pirate" by its creators, is the most powerful of the Elite Pirate forces. The Omega Pirate is the result of many horrific experiments conducted on Space Pirates with the use of the mutagen Phazon. The Omega Pirate boasts a suit of armor composed of Phazon, notably on his shoulders and thighs. Once the aforementioned armor is shattered, the creature renders itself invisible with a cloaking device called the Chameleon Manta, and makes its way to a Phazon pool to regenerate its wounds and armor. The Omega Pirate wields retractable wrist bayonets, an energy deflection shield, an improved version of the Plasma Artillery Cannon, as well as a Wave Quake Generator. Omega can also call in Beam Troopers as a distraction while it recovers, but the troopers are easily killed by quakes and other crossfire between the Omega Pirate and Samus. Defeating the Omega Pirate causes it to collapse onto Samus, infusing its copious amount of Phazon into Samus' Gravity Suit, giving Samus the Phazon Suit, granting her immunity to most types of Phazon.
[edit] Phazon Elite
Phazon Elites were the Pirates' first experiments using Phazon. Not many Pirates survived the first tests because the Pirates overused the Phazon, but the ones that did survive were horribly mutated and much stronger than the Elite Pirates after them. They are the same size as the Elites but are much stronger and faster because of their extra mutations. The Phazon Elites were horribly disfigured and webbed with Phazon-filled veins. They were not given weapons (plasma artillery cannons) but rather relied on brute strength to overwhelm enemies in combat. Not many of the Phazon Elites lasted long after the beginning of Phazon infusion, and Samus destroyed the last one in her attack on Tallon IV.
[edit] Plasma Trooper
Beam Troopers wield reverse-engineered versions of Samus's Chozo beam weapons. These copies are flawed, however. They are less powerful than the originals, and a flaw in their shielding leaves their users vulnerable to the same type weapon. (E.g. Plasma Troopers use the Plasma Beam and are vulnerable to it as well.) They're also less agile than normal Space Pirates.
[edit] Power Trooper
Beam Troopers wield reverse-engineered versions of Samus' Chozo beam weapons. These copies are flawed, however. They are less powerful than the originals, and a flaw in their shielding leaves their users vulnerable to the same type weapon. Power Troopers use the Power Beam and are vulnerable to it as well (A single super missile will take care of them). Like the other two aforementioned troopers, they're less agile than Space Pirates.
[edit] Shadow Pirate
Only a select group of Space Pirates have access to cloaking technology; these are the Shadow Pirates. This cloaking technology drains large amounts of power, forcing them to rely solely on melee weapons (energy scythes) in battle. Thermal tracking is still effective for locating Shadow Pirates. Shadow Pirates have a tendency to cling to walls and attack.
[edit] Wave Trooper
Beam Troopers wield reverse-engineered versions of Samus' Chozo beam weapons. These copies are flawed, however. They are less powerful than the originals, and a flaw in their shielding leaves their users vulnerable to the same type weapon. Wave Troopers use the Wave Beam and are vulnerable to it. They have the same agility as other beam troopers.
[edit] Stone Toad
The Stone Toad is a creature that preys on smaller creatures. Anything indigestible will be spit out, and it will use its tusks as a last resort. It is only vulnerable from the inside by allowing it to ingest the morph ball and laying a bomb.
[edit] Tallon Crab
Small crabs which travel in very large numbers. They are basically aquatic Parasites. They are harmless by themselves, but can be dangerous if encountered in packs. Tallon Crabs inhabit the wreckage of the Orpheon, on the Tallon Overworld.
[edit] Tangle Weed
The Tangle Weed is a form of plant life with small amounts of sentience. They temporarily retract into the ground when threatened. To small life forms, the barbs on the weeds trap them to feed, but for larger organisms they can only hinder them.
[edit] Venom Weed
The Venom Weed is an evolutionary offshoot of Tangle Weed, but also has venomous properties. They lure prey with their bright red leaves, and then inject them with a toxin that rapidly decomposes the victim, making the corpse an ideal form for the Venom Weed to consume. Venom Weeds are also found in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. Venom Weeds are found in Torvus Bog, and a subspecies can be found on Dark Aether that has adapted to Dark Aether's toxic atmosphere. Oddly enough, only the Metroid Prime versions are added to the Logbook when they are scanned.
[edit] Thardus
Thardus is an experiment created by the Space Pirates (who dubbed it Project Titan) who used Phazon on inorganic objects to make sentient beings for weapons, but the Pirates gave up trying to pacify it since it became too dangerous. Thardus is locked in a quarantine cave from which it is too large to exit. Thardus has the ability to control the weather, roll into a ball, hurl large phazon-infused rocks, and encase enemies in ice. However, the Phazon experiments resulted in structural weaknesses within the rock that make up Thardus. To the Combat Visor, it has no visible weak point, but the Thermal Visor reveals the rock that will damage it. After dealing enough damage to it, the outer coating of the rock will break and the heat coming from it will overload the Thermal Visor, rendering it useless. Switching back to the Combat Visor reveals that the rock has turned the neon blue color of Phazon ore. A few more hits dealt to this rock will destroy it, advancing the round of the battle. Once the rock is destroyed, another will become weak, and therefore visible to the Thermal Visor. After the first few rocks are destroyed, Thardus will summon a snowstorm, which greatly impairs visibility with the Combat Visor. When the battle is nearing the end, the storm will be repelled, and it is very easy to defeat Thardus's largest ("heart") rock, which takes quite a few more hits to shatter. After its defeat, Thardus yields the Spider Ball augmentation, which is necessary to leave Quarantine Cave.
[edit] Triclops
A small hunter-gatherer insect with tripartite jaws. It is commonly used as a hazard in Morph Ball mazes, and will pick up the Morph Ball and bring it back to the start if touched. Their habit of collecting objects can be used against them, however, by dropping Bombs which the Triclops will then pick it up and subsequently explode.
[edit] War Wasp
It is an airborne insect that possesses a venomous stinger it uses to attack enemies. However, it usually stays close to its Hive. Dive-bombing its prey without any care for itself, it uses toxins in its stinger to incapacitate small creatures and injure larger ones.
[edit] Barbed War Wasp
The most aggressive of the War Wasp family. This War Wasp has the ability to launch its stinger up to twenty meters and regrow its stinger in seconds. This War Wasp is found with the mini-boss, the Incinerator drone, in which the drone disturbs their hive, causing them to attack the player. In Metroid Prime Hunters, the wasps were found on an inactive door, and came out of their hives when electricity passed over them. The hives wouldn't stop producing the wasps, and also had to be destroyed.
[edit] Ram War Wasp
The fastest and smartest of the War Wasp family. The Ram War Wasps will surround an enemy and attack it by moving in circles around it, then attacking in unison. They are part of the boss fight against the Hive Mecha, which is a defense system that shelters Ram War Wasps and makes use of their coordinated attacks against intruders.
[edit] Zoomer
Small territorial mollusk which anchors itself to walls and other surfaces and moves around in a set pattern. Sharp spines on the Zoomer's back protect it from casual predators, but are unable to protect it from indirect attacks. Found in the early stages of Tallon Overworld.
[edit] Geemer
An evolutionary offshoot of the Zoomer family, the Geemer is similar in that it is also a small territorial creature. However, it is evolved from its cousin in that when threatened, the Geemer can retract its head into an armored carapace, which is indestructible to all but concussive blasts (missiles) and the Plasma beam.
[edit] Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
[edit] Agon Bearerpod
Bearerpods are plant-based organisms that have been genetically altered by the Luminoth to store necessary materials, such as ammunition. The Agon Bearerpod was designed to survive in Agon Wastes. It requires little moisture to survive, as it can store water. Agon Bearerpods resemble a clear blue spiky ball connected to the ground with a stem.
[edit] Amorbis
Amorbis is a giant sand worm guarding the Dark Agon Temple in Dark Aether, with three separate bodies. The main power source of Amorbis is a giant black sphere surging with dark energy. Its name is likely a pun on "amorphous", which means 'having no clear shape'.
Amorbis will break off from its sphere and will leap out of the sand at random spots trying to ram Samus. Once its outer shell is destroyed it will attach to its sphere. Amorbis will then gain armor and a hornlike head. It will use dark energy to nullify the light crystals and beacons temporarily. It can also charge up to launch a hyper destructive beam attack. Once Samus destroys its head armor, she must transform into the Morph Ball and allow Amorbis to suck the Morph Ball in its mouth, which is vulnerable to Morph Ball Bombs. After Samus defeats the one, two Amorbises attack at once, following the same pattern. Once she destroys those three Amorbises attack. Once all three are destroyed, Amorbis dies permanently, as well as the Dark Sphere, and Samus can adapt the remnants of the dark sphere to her powersuit, receiving the Dark Suit.
[edit] Bloatsac
Bloatsacs are plants native to Aether. They are hardy, adaptable organisms. Bloatsacs are covered with a nearly indestructible shell and are immune to the many diseases that run rampant in Torvus. Bloatsacs absorb toxins found in Torvus, making them vital to Torvus' ecosystem.
[edit] Blogg
A funnel-shaped, black fish predator whose only vulnerability is its mouth. They ram their prey, then use their three mandibles to eat it. They are easiest to destroy while using their ramming attack. Bloggs can become possessed by the Ing to become Dark Creatures.
[edit] Alpha Blogg
The alpha male of the Bloggs, this gigantic Blogg is a mini-boss that prevents Samus from leaving the room in which she obtained the Gravity Boost. It fires sonic booms, rams Samus, and when defeated, allows her to exit the area with her new Gravity Boost.
[edit] Bloggling
Blogglings are a Blogg's young. They aren't as powerful or as durable as their parents, but travel in larger schools. The Blogglings don't have fully developed jaws or armor, but the same strategy applies to the juveniles as the adults.
[edit] Dark Blogg
The Darkling Possessed Blogg are darker versions of the underwated predators. They are more powerful however and more dangerous. But it is unable to launch sonic blasts (Something about the Bloggs mind make it impossible for the Ing to fully control). It can be easily destroyed by the light beam if you aim for its open mandibles when it uses its ramming attack. (NOTE: When you notice that the Ing are possessing the Bloggs, they are in Bloggling form. Meaning that the ing can rapidly age beings like the Blogglings until it is fullgrown, and dangerous.)
[edit] Blueroot Tree
These trees are found on many desert worlds, and are found in Agon Wastes. Most organisms are poisoned when ingesting the Blueroot leaves, many of the organisms that are not consider them delicacies, including the Space Pirates.
[edit] Brizgee
Brizgees are scorpion-like creatures primarily found in Agon Wastes, but can be found both above and under water in the Hydrodynamo section of Torvus Bog. Their poisonous stinger is concealed under a shell made out of fused sand. This shell is only vulnerable to missiles, but once the shell is gone the Brizgee is vulnerable to all forms of weaponry. They move around in set patterns.
[edit] Caretaker Class Drone
The Caretaker Drone is a minor boss found in Sanctuary Fortress. There is a Spider Ball track around the arena. The Caretaker Drone has three electrical limbs circling the track that will damage Samus and knock her onto the electrified floor below. Every so often, the Caretaker Drone will drop a red sensory rod for a short amount of time that Samus must boost into. Once three rods are destroyed, it will release a central sensor for a shorter period of time that must also be boosted into. Once the central sensor is offline, Samus must go up the track and repeat the process, but this time the track is divided into two sections. Samus must repeat this a third time with the track divided into three sections. If you want to scan the Drone, you must do so before the battle.
[edit] Chykka
The Chykka is the insectoid boss guarding the Dark Torvus Temple. When Samus enters the temple, the Chykka is still in its cocoon; a larva emerges from the cocoon when Samus destroys the supports holding it up. It swims around in the water, occasionally splashing dark water at Samus, and sometimes surfacing and trying to drag Samus in its mouth.
Once the larva is destroyed, the adult form of the Chykka emerges. This is by far the most dangerous form, because it frequently spits dark water at Samus. To defeat this form, weak spots on the back of the wings must be destroyed.
The Chykka's final form, the Dark Adult, spews forth dozens of small Chyklings from its eggsac. This is by far the easiest form to defeat, because it can be destroyed with conventional means, and the comparatively weak swarm of Chyklings provide plenty of extra health and ammunition.
The Chykka switches forms from Adult to Dark Adult each time Samus hits its weak spots on its wings often enough. The Dark Chykka is vulnerable in its eggsac. After the Chykka is destroyed, Samus is rewarded with the Dark Visor.
The Chykka lifecycle is something of a mystery; its offspring had no larval phase, said to be the result of a mutation in the logs. It appears to reproduce asexually, given the obvious impossibility of it mating between its growth into the adult form and the immediately ensuing battle.
[edit] Corrupted Sentreye
Sentreyes were Eyon-like guard drones employed by the Luminoth. All of them have since been possessed by the Ing, so uncorrupted Sentreyes are not seen during the course of the game.
[edit] Dark Preed
Another variant of the Puffer, a floating, poisonous creature. Technically, the original Preed is a patrol cyborg used by Space Pirates to monitor the subterranean areas of Torvus Bog, and because the gas inside it is different from that of Puffers, it is probably not related. Once the Ing possessed them, they took them to the Dark Agon Wastes as well. Due to Ing possession and the dark atmosphere of Dark Aether, it is more durable and the toxic gas has also been enhanced, making the Dark Preed more dangerous than the original.
[edit] Diligence Class Drone
The first cleaning units developed by the Luminoth, they were modified to use energy beams in combat, but were replaced by the Harmony Class Drones, which had better capabilities. They are invulnerable to most attacks, but can be destroyed using dark energy. They are very similar to Scatter Bombus, and only appear in Sanctuary Fortress.
[edit] Galactic Federation Troopers
These troopers wear powered armor and are the marines of the Galactic Federation. In Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, they appear in cutscenes when an entire crew is attacked by the Ing. Players can scan some of their corpses to access their journal entries. The player does not encounter surviving Galactic Federation marines in normal state, though there are encounters with Ing-possessed marines.
They also appear briefly in the opening clip at the beginning of Metroid Prime Hunters, where they are attacked by Sylux, as well as the opening sequence of Metroid Fusion.
[edit] Missile Trooper
Missile Troopers are Galactic Federation Troopers equipped with a missile launcher. There was only one in the original compliment of GF Marines. He, like the other GF Troopers, was killed and later possessed by an Ing. Killing it gives you a missile expansion.
[edit] Turrets
Turrets are stationary guard drones that fire energy blasts at intruders. There are three such drones in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes.
[edit] Growler Class
Growler turrets are weak turrets encountered early in the game. They once belonged to the GF troopers. It has weak armor and great difficulty tracking moving targets, so strafing can prove to be effective.
[edit] Humility Class
Humility turrets are Growler turrets with weapons systems upgraded with Galvanic Accelerator Cannons. It shares the Growler turret's weak armor and poor targeting abilities. They are used by the Space Pirates.
[edit] Luminoth
Luminoth turrets have powerful, rapid-fire weaponry and thick armor plating that takes three missiles to destroy. It has poor targeting capabilities like the Growler or Humility turrets, in spite of the fact that the Luminoth turret was developed separately. They were used by the Luminoth as perimeter guards until they went rogue.
[edit] Grenchler
Grenchlers are a fictional water based reptilian predator found on planet Aether in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. They are well armored and deadly at any range, however their back shell is vulnerable to concussive blasts. If Samus attacks with the Screw Attack, the grenchler is killed in only two hits. Interestingly enough, its shell isn't removed by the Screw Attack. At close range, they will often attack their prey by attacking viciously with their powerful jaws, although if unable to they have the ability to charge and fire a burst of electrical energy at their foes. In water, Grenchlers are faster and their electrical "grapple" attack behaves more like a bomb blast. They have two thick, muscular legs, which allow it to leap very high and far, a weak orange shell on the back of their body, and they are similar to a raptor or t-rex. They also possess powerful jaws and often travel in pairs. They can also apparently hunt in the water and may even live in it, only emerging for prey.
The common variant has many eyes, while the much larger Grapple Guardian specimen only appears to have one. However, this is most likely because of the Ing influence over the Darkling Grenchler.
This species is often considered to be somewhat related to the Sheegoths, a species found on Tallon IV. This hypothesis is based on the fact of the rough design similarities and behavior of Grenchlers with the young form of the Sheegoths, as well as the existence of a larger form of the creature as a boss (Adult Sheegoth and Grapple Guardian). However, the similarity in design may also be attributed to the developers of the game wanting a similar enemy in Metroid Prime 2, however in a different environment in which the Sheegoth would not survive. Some of the few differences besides physical appearance is the Grenchler's ability to leap and their ability to swim and breath in water, both skills that Sheegoths do not possess.
Dead Grenchelrs can be seen inside of the Marine base in the beginning of the game.
[edit] Harmony Class Drone
Harmony Drones drop bombs at regular intervals. They are similar to Pulse Bombus, but if it hits Samus while she's charging it doesn't latch on to her. It just causes some minor damage.
[edit] Hydling
Hydlings travel in very large schools in the waters of Torvus Bog. They aren't aggressive, but can cause minor damage if touched. They are also good sources of health and ammo.
[edit] Ing
The Ing are a fictional race of evil, spider-like alien creatures that are the major foe of Samus Aran in the video game Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. Their name is the Luminoth word for 'terror'. Ing generally take on a dark, hideous, alien look, unless they have possessed other life forms, in which the host remains mostly the same, except that it takes on a blacker hue, spines, and Ing-like eye structures. Ing-possessed organisms usually gain the prefix "Dark-", and become stronger from the possession as well.
[edit] Boost Guardian
The Boost Guardian is a Warrior Ing that absorbed the Boost Ball. In solid form, it attacks like other Warrior Ing. Once it enters liquid form, however, it can use a boost-ram into Samus and is invulnerable to anything but Morph Ball Bombs.
[edit] Jump Guardian
A Warrior Ing that absorbed the Space Jump Boots. It uses normal Warrior Ing attacks, but it also uses a jumping shockwave attack. Right before and after (and during) it creates the shockwave, it is protected by a blue shield.
[edit] Ingsmasher
These huge robots were created by the Luminoth to guard Sanctuary Fortress. Ingsmashers are large humanoid robots, armed with rocket launchers, a barrier generator, and the ability to generate shockwaves. They hold two spheres in their hands, one generating shockwaves, and the other holding the barrier generator. These armaments ensured that Ingsmashers lived up to their name. The Ing eventually possessed a few, but the majority simply went rogue. Other than its darker armor, the Ing-infected versions of the robot are virtually the same as their Light Aether counterparts. Ingsmashers may also use the spheres they hold to create a shield of light or darkness. When this shield is up, only the opposing polarity beam may damage it, and even then only when the sphere is hit, however when no shield is up ingsmashers are vulnerable to all weapon fire. Ingsmashers are inactive when first seen; they activate after cetain events have been completed (in some rooms they activate when a player remains there long enough).
[edit] Kralee
Kralee are small insects with crystals growing out their backs. These crystals give the Kralee the ability to travel back and forth between dimensions. However, the Kralee has no control over this ability (probably due to Aether's dimensional instability) and spontaneously warps in and out of whatever timespace it happens to be in (this seems to be limited to the "real" world and some unknown dimension; they are never seen in Dark Aether). The Dark Visor allows Samus to track them through the dimensions and destroy them across the dimensional "barrier" without use of a portal.
[edit] Green Kralee
Kralees with green crystals instead of the standard red crystals. They appear earlier in the game than regular Kralees, although they have the exact same strengths and weaknesses. Unlike its warping cousin, the Green Kralee is stuck in the "real" world and can't perform the teleport at all (its Logbook data implies that it doesn't really care about that little quirk in its abilities). Whether this is tied in with the crystal's color is unknown.
[edit] Krocuss
Krocusses are mollusks are found in Torvus Bog. They crawl around in set patterns. Krocusses have a strong shell which they must occasionally open to expose their bright red gills. They are vulnerable once their gills are exposed.
[edit] Lightbringer
Lightbringers are a genetically engineered species created by the Luminoth. They move slowly and create a safe zone around themselves. Lightbringers are only found on Dark Aether, specifically the Dueling Range room in Dark Agon. They disappear after the Space Jump Boots are found.
[edit] Lightflyer
Lightflyers are weak flying drones created by the Luminoth, although they are no longer loyal to the Luminoth. They can fire bursts of energy as an attack. If a Lightflyer is killed on Dark Aether, it creates a temporary safe zone.
[edit] Luminoth
A race of intelligent, moth-like creatures, whose name is a portmanteau of "luminous" and "moth." They are the original inhabitants of Aether and almost lost the war with the Ing - they put all the remaining members of their race in stasis except one, U-Mos, a sentinel, who helps Samus and later gives her the Light Suit.
[edit] Dark Luminoth
A Dark Luminoth is a Luminoth who has been possessed by the Ing and has betrayed its fellow species. One or more were supposed to be in the final version of the game as a boss or mini-boss, but were taken out for unknown reasons. They remain only as references in Luminoth Lore. The Luminoth created a device to prevent being taken over but were prepared to kill themselves should the device fail.
[edit] Lumite
Lumites are small insectoids. A Lumite is more powerful when in light or on a safe zone, as it is invisible and capable of channeling that light into a powerful blast. When in the dark, however, they are visible and fire a purple chunk of biomatter as a crude defense..
[edit] Mechlops
Mechlops are robotic Triclops found in Sanctuary Fortress. They were created by the Luminoth after they failed to domesticate Triclops to fight the Ing.
[edit] Mekenobite
Mekenobites are guard robots in Sanctuary Fortress. They hang from their two legs and fire magnetic blasts. The only way to kill one is to make it self-destruct, which is done by shooting both of its legs at once with Seeker Missiles.
[edit] Nightbarb
Nightbarbs are enemies encountered exclusively in the Dark World. They are found in large swarms, similar to Sandbats. They are the only Darklings that can be destroyed by a normal safe zone.
[edit] Octopede
Small messenger drones gone rogue, Octopedes consist of eight small robots that function as a single unit. They can usually be found walking in circles on the walls of certain narrow passages, making it impossible to pass. The destruction of only one Octopede is impossible; if one is damaged sufficiently, the entire chain shatters, and the drones self-destruct after a few moments. The name "Octopede" literally means "eight legs". Using a Disrupter Blast on a group of Octopedes is a good way to earn both light and dark ammo.
[edit] Pillbug
Common enemies in the Agon Wastes, Pillbugs are small worms that live in narrow passages. Upon detecting a possible threat, they curl up into a ball and move at a higher rate of speed. They are more of a nuisance than anything else, as they can make navigation in Morph Ball tunnels much more difficult. Laying a Bomb will stun the bugs, making them drop and exposing their vulnerable underbellies. Laying more bombs will eventually kill the Pillbug.
[edit] Spider ball Guardian
A Pillbug that has been possessed by the Darklings that stole Samus's Spider Ball. It is magnetically charged, and must travel by magnet rail. Samus engages it in battle in the Sanctuary Fortress, though the battle itself is more of a puzzle than anything else.
The Guardian's charged nature creates a barrier of energy. When it is hit by a Bomb, it stops, then moves faster. The shield will also change colors. Once its shield has gone from blue to orange, and then from orange to red, the shield goes green. During this time, the Guardian is extremely slow, and its charge has changed enough to activate Bomb slots in the area. Activating the slot before the Guardian can turn blue again will expose an electrical pylon, which the Guardian rams itself into and takes damage as a result. Repeated collisions into the electrical pylons will eventually kill the Spider Guardian.
[edit] Pirate Grenadier
The Space Pirates are experimenting with grenade systems. For the Pirate Grenadiers, this is a double-edged sword. While their grenade systems are powerful, they can't be used with any other weapons systems, they have a slow rate of fire and are ineffective at close range.
[edit] Pirate Trooper
Pirate Troopers are reptile-like scaled alien with Quantum Assault Cannons for long-range attacks and Photonic armed Scythes for close-range combat. Pirate Troopers always attack in groups as they are the basic Alien Pirate infantry, and are the weakest of all the Alien Pirate crews.
[edit] Pirate Commando
Pirate Commandos are elite Space Pirates dedicated to hunting down Samus. These Space Pirates weaponry includes energy blasters, energy swords, and electromagnetic pulse grenades that temporarily disrupt visor systems. The Pirate Commandos are also equipped with portable shield generators and high-speed thruster packs.
[edit] Dark Pirate Commando
Dark Pirate Commandos are Pirate Commandos that have been possessed by Hunter Ing (Hunter Ing are the only Ing allowed to possess Commandos). They are still equipped with energy blasters and swords, but their other abilities have been altered. Their grenades now release a dark damaging liquid. Although their shield generators are non-operational, the Hunter Ing's abilities allow the Dark Pirate Commandos to cloak themselves. The Dark Commandos also only use thruster packs while cloaked.
[edit] Quad
4-legged robots designed by the Luminoth. They are equipped with turrets and can roll up and spin rapidly to damage the enemy. Each quad is made of two parts: the head (which is called a Quad Command Module/CM) and the spinning base (Quad Main Body/MB). Destroying the head first is preferable, since it requires only a Super Missile when the mechanoid is not spinning, but when separate from a Quad MB, it puts up fields that require alternation between light and dark beam shots to destroy it. There are some Quads that cannot be defeated this way, as the bases will stop and summon another Quad CM whenever theirs is destroyed. Defeating the spinning base is the same, whether or not it has a head to go with it: players need only ram it with a morph ball boost while it is spinning and use bombs or boosting to attack the exposed red glow on the stunned base.
[edit] Quadraxis
Quadraxis is the boss guarding the Ing Hive. It has a vague spider shape, with four giant legs, and appears as an over-sized Quad. It has mostly the same colors as a normal Quad.
Unusually, before the game was released and it was shown in E3 and Nintendo Power, Quadraxis was supposed to be purple, and the glass areas to be green. However, this was apparently changed to the colors of a regular Quad in the final version (but they temporarily glow purple when the Ing possess is it and bring it to life).
Quadraxis is a maximum security drone created by the Luminoth, but was taken by the Ing to serve them. Once the energy of the Sanctuary Fortress was taken, the Ing needed to guard their own, so they took this giant destroyer with them to guard the Ing hive's planetary energy. Quadraxis guards the second to final energy controller, leaving only the one in the Sky Temple.
Quadraxis' attacks include Annihilator Beams and a Disruptor shot (which is the charged version for the Annihilator Beam). It can be dodged by a simple boost in Morph Ball form. It also has missiles, and a spin attack similar to the one used by the smaller Quad robots, except this one has the size and power of a real tornado, and cannot be avoided, only exploited. It can be damaged by attacking its leg joints when they are flashing with any weapon, and foot joints with Boost Ball, or Morph Ball Bombs. Once its main body is crippled, the head will lift off and attack on its own. The head will receive shielding from sonic frequencies coming from the transmitter in the main body, and cannot be damaged. The link must be severed by using the Echo Visor to first damage the transmitter in the main body and then destroy the receiving antennae in the head. While the link is being re-established, the head will summon Dark Quad robots. Once all of the receiver antennae in the head are destroyed, the glass on the top of the head module shatters, and the head flies and wobbles about, destroying the glass coverings on the Spider-Ball tracks on its legs. In this final part, the head can be stunned with shots, then, using the main body's legs as ramps, Samus must boost-ball-jump and attach to the head using the Spider Ball, and bomb its two Morph Ball slots, one at a time. This finally destroys the head, as well as the boss.
It must also be noted that in the light version of the temple entrance players can see various parts of the disassembled Quadraxis robot scattered throughout the room.
Also wise to note is that Quadraxis is one of the largest bosses in Metroid history, easily dwarfing Samus and rivaling Kraid in terms of height.
[edit] Rezbit
Among the most infamous of all enemies in Echoes, Rezbits are small orbs surrounded by many small, orange, square-shaped energy shields. Despite their small size, Rezbits are one of the game's most powerful and potent enemies. They can attack with rapid-fire energy blasts and a long, sweeping beam of energy. They can also focus the shield fragments around them into a blue shield that repels all weaponry. Their claim to fame, however, is their ability to hack into computer systems. By becoming a being of nearly pure energy (the orb that makes the actual creature stays solid), they can transmit a crippling virus into Samus's suit. This will cause it to shut down and reboot, temporarily hindering her ability to fight. Locking onto a Rezbit while it is preparing the virus is impossible as well. Normally very durable and hardy creatures, they can withstand a pair of Super Missiles before death. Like most Light Aether enemies, they can be frozen by a fully charged Dark Beam and shattered by a Missile quite easily. Rezbits shatter when hit by the Screw Attack in much the same way, but they will often dodge the attack. As a bonus, the screw attack can also penetrate the energy shield that the rezbit can create.
[edit] Sandbat
Sandbats travel in large packs and either travel in an erratic but set pattern or out of a crevice. Sandbats are normally scavengers, but they have been known to attack each other if they are unable to find food. They are essentially the light world versions of Nightbarbs.
[edit] Sanddigger
Giant burrowing worms with two heads. Sanddiggers surface when something enters their territory (which is quite small) and attack with sprays of digestive fluids and charges. When the head on one end of its body is destroyed, the other takes over. The second head only has half the energy of the first.
[edit] Bomb Guardian
An Alpha Sanddigger possessed by the Darklings that stole Samus' Morph Ball Bombs. It loses one of its heads in favor of a Bomb-producing tail, and is invulnerable with the exception of this tail. When the tail has taken too much damage, the Guardian will try to generate an exceptionally powerful Bomb in its mouth, but can be shot and damaged during this time.
[edit] Sandgrass
Sandgrass is a grass-like plant species found in Agon Wastes. It is genetically engineered to require no water or moisture to survive, possibly by the Luminoth.
[edit] Seedburster
Seedbursters are small, mobile plants that travel in large swarms like Parasites or Scarabs. Unlike these other swarming enemies, however, they propel exploding seeds at Samus once they are in range. The seeds that explode never reach fruitation, but it is of little consequence to the Seedbursters that intend to defend themselves.
[edit] Serenity Class Drone
Extremely small, harmless drones which were useless to the Ing because of their lack of armaments or defenses. Therefore, they did not turn on the Luminoth and still perform maintenance duties. The Serenity Class Drones are shaped like small, rectangular boxes with short, stubby legs and move in large swarms. They are excellent sources of health and ammo.
[edit] Shredder
Shredders are flying, plant-based organisms that come out of the water. They explode when they are near their target, or until they're destroyed. When they explode, Shredders release a cloud of thorns.
[edit] Dark Shredder
Dark Shredders are Dark Aether counterparts of the Shredders and are enemies that appear in Samus Aran's fight with the Chykka Larva. They are mainly there for powerups, like energy and ammo, but they also distract Samus so she must aim for them when they get too close. Like their Aether counterparts, Dark Shredders come out of the dark water when agitated and attack by exploding near their enemy.
[edit] Shrieker
Shriekers are the cousins of Shredders. They pop out of the ground rather than the water, however, and they don't explode. Instead, Shriekers fire disruptive sonic blasts. They can also become invisible to everything but the Echo Visor.
[edit] Splinter
Ant-like insects that act like the Beetles from Metroid Prime, except they dwell in cocoons hanging from walls and ceilings. Upon detecting prey, they break free from the cocoon and attack whatever disturbed them. When one cocoon is breached, the rest of the Splinters break free. Although normally rather weak, Darkling possession makes Splinters much more difficult to kill. A Darkling Alpha Splinter serves as the first mini-boss in the game. That miniboss gives you the planetary energy transference module upon defeat. Splinters almost always attack in packs.
Darkling Splinters are responsible for the deaths of the Federation Troopers who landed on Aether.
[edit] Alpha Splinter
An Alpha Splinter is the alpha male of a Splinter hive, and leads the Splinter hunting party.
[edit] Worker Splinter
Worker Splinters are the splinters that do the Splinter hive's work. They create a durable, pliable webbing and work with toxic chemicals while protected by a mucous membrane. They have virtually no offensive or defensive abilities, and probably rely on Splinters to hunt for them.
[edit] Sporb
Sporbs are carnivorous plants that can be found in Torvus Bog. Normally hidden away in their impenetrable base, they spring out when Samus enters Morph Ball form. While in Morph Ball, they will attempt to grab Samus by stretching over short distances to grab her. When in normal form, Sporbs spray acidic darts at Samus. They don't retract once they detect Samus, and can be dispatched with most weaponry quite easily.
[edit] Power Bomb Guardian
This Sporb was possessed by the Darklings that stole Samus' Power Bombs. It has grown to a huge size, and spits Power Bombs instead of the regular Sporb's darts. The Power Bomb energy coursing through it creates a nearly unbreakable shield. But by activating four Bomb Slots nestled at the end of Spider Ball tracks, Samus can deliver enough "kinetic impact" to break the shield. Once the slots have been activated, the ceiling weakens, falling and crushing the Guardian and creating a way out of the room.
[edit] Torvus Bearerpod
Another bearerpod species (see Agon Bearerpod higher on this page for information on Bearerpods). Torvus Bearerpods are found in Torvus Bog. In order to prevent native species from attempting to eat it, this Bearerpod species releases a toxic vapor cloud when destroyed.
[edit] Torvus Hanging Pod
The third species of Bearerpod is also found in Torvus Bog. It breaks upon impact with the ground, but only rarely releases health or ammo. This is because many native creatures and Ing raided the Hanging Pods for food, health and ammunition.
In early release versions of the game, Hanging Pods simply vanish when they fall into water (which most do), rendering all but a few of them useless.
[edit] Vigilance Class Turret
Vigilance Turrets are very powerful and have thick armor. Unlike the smaller automated turrets used by the Pirates, Vigilance Turrets are manually controlled and require a gunman to operate. These turrets are only fought once (a pair of them are manned in Agon Wastes). Samus can use these turrets later on to collect a Beam Ammo and Power Bomb expansions.
[edit] War Wasp
War Wasps are airborne insects first introduced in Metroid Prime. They rarely stray far away from its hive while pursuing immediate threat and will often attack without any regard for its survival. Its stinger injects fast working toxins which can incapacitate most small organisms.
Young Ing often possess War Wasps in order to join the war effort on Aether. If they prove their mettle in the War Wasp, they often graduate to the control of larger and deadlier creatures.
Both versions of War Wasps can shoot a weak energy blast from their stinger, making up for the game's absences of the Barbed War Wasp.
[edit] Watchdrone
Watchdrones are machines that guard their territory by staying in one place. They only way to get one to move is to shoot a nearby light beacon with the Light Beam. Otherwise, they are indestructible.
[edit] Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt
[edit] Xenomorphs
Xenomorphs are the primary creatures encountered in the Metroid Prime Hunters demo First Hunt, and don't appear in the full game. These flying creatures do not show any defensive or offensive strategies, but do hurt the character if touched. They only appear in two modes,"Regulator, and "Survivor."
[edit] Metroid Prime: Hunters
[edit] Alimbics
The Alimbics were highly intelligent civilisational insect-like alien who were all but wiped out by Gorea after a meteor it was traveling on impacted one of their homeworlds. Alimbics' brains possessed large frontal lobes and they were quick decision makers, as well as proficient in psychic abilities such as telepathy and essence transference . Their heads hover in the air without use of a neck, like the Kriken. The Alimbics built two large space stations, called the Celestial Archives and the Vesper Defense Outpost. The Alimbics were the first to discover "essence transference". By using this ability, the Alimbics were able to turn their bodies into concentrated psychic power. This was used to seal Gorea who was too great to be slain by conventional weaponry.
An interesting feature of the Alimbic's appearance is their striking similarity to Gorea's first form. This is likely due to Gorea's ability to assimilate the essence of organisms, becoming them and yet adapting to its own needs (this is strangely reminiscent of Metroid Fusion's X Parasites). Since the Alimbics were the most advanced, and most threatening organisms around, Gorea assimilated their very bodies and technologies.
[edit] Alimbic Turret
Stationary turrets, these point-defense systems are equipped with DNA-scanners. When the scanners pick up something that is not Alimbic, the turrets will activate (their activation is indicated by a rather loud chirping sound) and fire at the target. The Alimbic Turret 1.0 fires regular shots similar to the Power Beam, the Alimbic Turret 1.4 fires shots similar to Battlehammer blasts, and the Alimbic Turret 2.7 fires shots that parallel the Imperialist. Turrets are usually found in groups.
[edit] Arctic Spawn
The Arctic Spawn is similar to the Fire Spawn in appearance, except for the fact that it's blue, and the Fire Spawn is red. The Arctic Spawn dwells in the ice of Fault Line, Arcterra. It throws ice from its hands, capable of freezing its target solid. The Magmaul is effective against the Arctic Spawn. The Arctic Spawn yields the Imperialist when defeated. An interesting fact about this creature is that it was programmed to react in only two dimensions, much like Gorea's first form and Noxus' Judicator, this becomes apparent when one manages to create a large distance from the creature along the creatures Y-axis. As the creature is programmed to always face samus, and has no data for facing upwards, the game does the closest thing to facing upwards, which happens to be mashing the creature along its axis of depth, meaning it gets thinner depending on how directly above it Samus is, and when Samus is directly above the creature, it becomes 2-dimensional. It is also worth noting a similar glitch occurs with its weapon, which is also not programmed vertically, giving the same 2-d effect as its user.
This is also true for its fiery counterpart, the fire spawn.
[edit] Cretaphid
A piece of Alimbic defense technology shaped like a totem pole and with a rectangular "brain" concealed within in its topmost regions. The many rotating turrets on its side can fire heat-seeking plasma or chemical laser beams; when they are blue they can be destroyed, but when they are red they are invulnerable. If all turrets are destroyed, the crystalline "brain" rises out of the top of the structure to fire energy bursts and can be shot to damage Cretaphid. The turrets and brain can most easily be destroyed by circle strafing, a technique that allows the player to dodge their slow shots while jumping over the lasers. The fourth, and most advanced, model of Cretaphid can move around the room, using its outer casing as a weapon. The Cretaphid v4's plasma is not heat seeking, however.
[edit] Diamont
Diamonts are an ancient silicon-based race whose bodies are composed of organic rock. Mondreus was their home planet. The Diamonts are now extinct, however, the reason is unknown. The entire race had simply vanished, leaving no clues behind. This was possibly due to genocide by an unknown evil foe. If it was genocidal, it is unknown how Spire survived.
[edit] Spire
Spire is the only known remaining Diamont. His name is derived from a spire of rock, three of which he has on his back. Spire's life as a bounty hunter took him from one end of the galaxy to the other, while he continually searched for some information on the location, or fate, of the rest of his people. When he received a message from the Alimbic Cluster, he raced to Alinos with the hope that finding the Alimbics' source of ultimate power and solving the mystery of their lost race would help him solve the mystery of his own. His weapon is called the Magmaul and his alternate form is a large, spiked boulder called the Dialanche (a portmanteau of Diamont and avalanche) which can scale walls and orbit two thick titanium limbs around it for attack, revealing the spiked, crystal like center. These limbs do not appear to be attached to the crystalline center, and appear to be made out of rock rather than titanium. Spire can also walk (or roll) in lava without taking damage. Spire's Magmaul was copied by Gorea. His hostility towards Samus is likely because he is desperate, willing to go to any lengths to discover what happened to his race, no matter how many beings he'll need to kill.
Weapon of Choice: Magmaul - A weapon that fires superheated magma. When Spire charges it, it can ignite opponents.
Alt. form: Dialanche - A rock-like sphere that can climb walls and orbit rocks around it as an attack.
[edit] Enoema
Enoema are a fictional alien race from the Metroid series. The only Enoema seen are Kanden and his weapon, the Volt Driver. It has yet to be known however, whether or not an Enoema is an actual race, or just anything labeled as such that was made by scientists in their project, whatever that might be, and where ever it might be. However, the Player's Guide for Hunters refers to both Kanden and the Volt Driver as results of the Enoema Living Weapons Project.
[edit] Kanden
Kanden was an experiment to create a so-called supersoldier: a soldier that could battle and kill anything, and was indestructible. However, Kanden's mind and psychology were still no more than a mere mortal's, thus meaning that his brain could not withstand the awesome and complicated neural combat encoding sequences. This completely transformed his mind, leaving him as a ferocious, unbelievably powerful and dangerously unpredictable superhuman. Kanden escaped the research lab, killing the scientists that made the enhancements and surgical modifications and also destroying the research lab. Kanden then took great advantage of his strength, near-invincibility, and near-immortality by trying his hand at becoming a bounty hunter. Although he is fairly new to being a bounty hunter, he has already earned a fearsome reputation due to his power and vicious nature. It would be impossible to trick him into not doing something violent; anything he sees, he kills at his own unpredictable will, and his conscience is rendered useless by the neurological enhancements. Built with programming to hunt, combat, and destroy, he could be the ultimate soldier. When Kanden received word of the Ultimate Power in the Alimbic Cluster, he sees a great advantage that he can grasp in his hands. Kanden also relishes the opportunity to prove his superiority. His part of the opening clip shows the Stinglarva slithering out from a burning building (this may possibly be the science lab in which he was enhanced) then transforming into Kanden and snarling with somewhat victorious body language as it explodes behind him. At the very start of the fight with Gorea, it copies Kanden's Volt Driver.
Weapon Of Choice: Volt Driver (A power shot that absorbs energy from a planet's electromagnetic field. When charged by Kanden, the Volt Driver homes in to the opponent and disrupts the opponent's visor. A charged shot can hit more than one hunter, including Kanden himself, if the hunter is close to the exploding radius.)
Alt Form: Stinglarva (When attacking, a piece is broken off from the tail and homes in on a target ready to explode. Can only break off one bomb at a time.)
[edit] Fire Spawn
A Fire Spawn is a miniboss in Metroid Prime Hunters. It dwells in Council Chamber, Alinos. It is a giant lava dwelling, humanoid creature with a hexagonal maw. It attacks by throwing rocks of molten lava at its target, which also set the target on fire. Its only weak point is its mouth, and it can only be damaged when it is open. The Judicator is particularly effective against the Fire Spawn. When the Fire Spawn is defeated, it yields the Magmaul.
[edit] Gorea
Gorea is the name of the creature that arrived at the Alimbic Cluster on a comet in gaseous form. It appears in Metroid Prime: Hunters as the final boss. After the comet impact, Gorea proceeded to copy the Alimbics' cellular structure and destroy their civilization in a swift rampage of terror. The Alimbics were powerless to stop Gorea's rampage, as it was immune to any weapon used against it and quickly replicated that weapon. The Alimbics were able to contain Gorea by using one of their artifacts, the Seal Sphere, and trapping it within the Oubliette. Seeking a way to break free, Gorea sent out a telepathic message to life forms all over the galaxy that spoke of the "ultimate power", in hopes that the promise of this power would bring life-forms powerful enough to free Gorea from its prison so it could re-enter the galaxy and destroy all in its path. Gorea has three legs, changes color depending on the colour of the weapon it is using, is slightly bigger than Samus, and still possesses the Seal Sphere, located in the middle of its body, from which it draws power. The hunters who found the Seal Sphere had their power drained, and Gorea copied their abilities and weapons. Therefore, Gorea was able to use all of the hunters weapons. Gorea is heavily armored, and its body is impervious to conventional weaponry. The color of its shoulders, however, indicate the type of weapon they are vulnerable to, and can be destroyed by the weapon of matching color. When its shoulders are destroyed, Gorea flips upside down and the Seal Sphere rises above its legs. In this form, Gorea may be damaged when Samus attacks the Seal Sphere, damaging Gorea due to its connection with it. It uses tentacles and creatures known as Trocras that explode on contact to attack. After repeating the cycle of destroying its shoulders and damaging the Seal Sphere enough times, Gorea will be defeated. However, if Samus had shot the symbols on the walls of the battleground with their corresponding weapons in the exact order as prophesized by the Alimbics, Gorea is revived and Gorea and Samus are transported to a new area in the Oubliette that contains a blue raised platform and a shield at the bottom of the platform containing the Omega Cannon, an extremely potent weapon. In this battle, Gorea uses a powerful laser attack and hurls meteors while it teleports around the battlefield. Ultimately, Samus uses the Omega Cannon to defeat Gorea once and for all.
[edit] Guardian
Specifically designed to guard the Alimbic Order, these intelligent sentry automatons are now programmed to serve in its absence. Guardians can shoot a variety of projectiles emulating the weapons of Samus, Noxus, Spire, Weavel, and Kanden. These intelligent androids often travel in packs, attacking with energy projectiles produced by three small fusion generators located in the cranium. Guardians are more skilled at fighting than their less advanced robotic counterparts, and will jump around to avoid damage, fight in packs, and use cover. Guardians are similar to Ithraks in appearance, being vaguely reptilian with two legs and no arms.
[edit] Ithrak
Continuing the tradition of bipedal lizard-like reptiles started in Metroid Prime, the Ithrak are found in Metroid Prime Hunters. It is something of a mix between a Skree and a Sheegoth, in the sense that it sleeps on the ceiling and only attacks once Samus gets close enough to disturb it, and when the player arrives, it will drop down (like a Skree) and use with a ramming attack similar to that of the Sheegoth. There are two varieties of Ithrak: the Lesser Ithrak, which can be shot on any part of its body, and the Greater Ithrak, which, although it can only be harmed by shooting the backside, can be destroyed with only one missile blast. The Greater Ithrak only appears twice, defending an Alimbic Artifact in the Vesper Defense Outpost and another on Arcterra, in Sanctorus. All Ithrak are more vulnerable if shot while hanging from the ceiling.
[edit] Kriken
The Kriken Empire is one of the most hated and feared races in the galaxy. They move like a swarm from planet to planet, conquering it and adding it to the Kriken empire. The Kriken are giant red insectoid creatures with skinny appendages. Their heads only have one red eye and no other features. Another noticeable aspect of the Kriken is that they have no neck; their heads hover in the air above their shoulders with no connection to their body, much like the Alimbics. A glowing orb is located at the center of their bodies. Trace also has a hand scythe or dagger, which could either be a natural appendage common to all Krikens, or a surgical enhancement akin to the blades and lobster claws grafted onto the Space Pirate troopers. The Kriken go through exile when young, and can only return once they have found a suitable planet to conquer.
[edit] Trace
The Kriken youth Trace is undergoing a rite of passage in exile, searching for worlds that the imperialistic Kriken race can invade. Using sophisticated Kriken technology, Trace can morph into a powerful three-legged Kriken military mechanism called the Triskelion by combining its hind legs into one appendage and flipping its torso 90 degrees upward. The Triskelion can lunge at its enemies with vicious needlepoint claws and become almost completely invisible when stationary. In addition to searching the Alimbic Cluster for new worlds for the Krikens to invade, Trace was seeking the Alimbic treasure to give more power to his race, which would result in Trace gaining more prestige. It is noted in the official player's guide that Trace plans that should he not get the "ultimate power" the planets in the Alimbic Cluster will still be suitable for Kriken invasion. Trace's Imperialist was copied by Gorea.
Weapon of Choice: Imperialist (A sniper beam that can zoom onto opponents. While the beam is equipped, Trace can become partially invisible if it remains still)
Alternate Form: Triskelion, uses a lunging attack that can inflict very heavy damage (about 50 damage points) if a direct hit. As with using the Imperialist, Trace may become invisible in this form while not moving
[edit] Petrasyl
The Petrasyl are harmless from a distance. Contact with the acidic secretions the Petrasyl's body produces can burn through all but the toughest metals. The airborne creature can usually be found in a group of two or much more of its kind. They carry a close resemblance of a Metroid, or even more so with Super Metroid's Mochtroids.
[edit] Psycho Bit
Small flying robots which shoot a variety of projectile types. They come in 5 versions - the higher versions tend to be more resilient.
[edit] Psycho Bit v1 (#1)
The Psycho Bit v1 comes in two versions. The basic silver model fires basic Power Beam-like blasts.
[edit] Psycho Bit v1 (#2)
The second version of the Psycho Bit v1 is green in color and fires blasts similar to the Battlehammer.
[edit] Psycho Bit v2
The yellow Psycho Bit v2 fires EMP blasts that look and act like Kanden's Volt Driver.
[edit] Psycho Bit v3
The third form of the Psycho Bit is orange colored. It shoots fireballs for its attack.
[edit] Psycho Bit v4
Psycho Bit v4s fire nanite based cryogenic blasts that are capable of freezing their targets. The Psycho Bit v4 is light blue in color.
[edit] Quadtroid
The Quadtroid is a genetically engineered species created from leech and reptile DNA. The creature is built similarly to a Metroid in that it has a large green membrane and nuclei inside of it. It also latches onto creatures and saps energy similarly to a Metroid, and, like a Metroid, can only be removed with a Morph Ball bomb. However, instead of floating like a Metroid, the creature crawls on the ground with its claws and possesses a tail and a leech-like body.
[edit] Slench
A giant, biomechanical eyeball-like cyborg developed by the Alimbics to safeguard the Octoliths. There are four Slench variants, each progressively harder to destroy. The Slench is invulnerable while it's connected to the wall (or ceiling in the case of Slench v4), and uses three synapses to channel energy to energy blasters. If all the synapses are damaged, the Slench will separate from the wall and fire at the player, but it is vulnerable if it is shot in the center of the eye. Later Slench models have the ability to charge at the player (3 and 4), roll around the room(4) and shoot different projectiles, and have synapses shielded against all except one type of weapon. The first Slench uses Missile-like blasts, the Slench v2 uses superheated Magmaul blasts, the Slench v3 uses charged Volt Drivers, and the Slench v4 uses charged, freezing Judicator blasts.
[edit] Sylux
Sylux is a character in Metroid Prime Hunters. Little is known about Sylux other than that the bounty hunter has an intense hatred for the Galactic Federation and Samus Aran. Sylux's alternate form is a small hovering ball of energy with two tetracarbon armour plates, called the Lockjaw, which lays tripwire mines. Two must be laid to create a tripwire, which can be left as a trap. If Sylux lays a third mine, forming a triangle, all three explode on anyone who happens to be in between them, causing 180 damage. If one more bomb is laid while someone has walked through a tripwire, it may also follow and attack the victim. His weapon of choice is the Shock Coil, a beam that fires highly damaging streams of high-density neutrinos, and when used by Sylux allows him to absorb the victim's energy. It gets stronger after a short time of attacking an opponent. Also, in low gravity areas, Sylux's lockjaw form can fly by rapidly laying mines. Sylux's Shock Coil was copied by Gorea.
The game's log entries state that Sylux's suit, gunship known as the Delano 7, and Lockjaw technology are all stolen Galactic Federation Prototypes, and Sylux's Shock Coil is made out of banned nanotechnology and according to its scan, is also a Galactic Federation Prototype.
Sylux's species is unknown, although the game's starting video reveals that he comes from Cylosis, and he is referred to as a male by the game's developers; in concept art, humanlike hands can be seen, which could mean he is human, but the ankle and knee joints seem too thin, although this could just be because it's concept art. The intro video shows the extent of his hatred for the Galactic Federation, showing Sylux dive-bombing an unsuspecting GF trooper, crushing him, then screaming defiantly (the scream sounds vaguely similar to one version of Godzilla's roar, as well as the cry of the Ithrak) at two other troopers that accompanied the one he killed. It does not, however, explain the reason that Sylux hates the Federation. Also, since his ship, the Delano 7, makes multiple appearances, and due to the fact that in the extended areas of VDO, there are multiple scenes of battle and decay, it is possible he is the main rival out of the five other hunters to Samus.
[edit] Vhozon
The Vhozon are an alien race with a fanatical view of morality that exceeds virtually any other race in the galaxy. To enforce their sense of justice, they have sent Noxus to the Alimbic Cluster in Metroid Prime Hunters to make sure the "Ultimate Power" that the Alimbics left behind does not fall into the wrong hands. The Vhozon, although law bringing are in fact quite harsh when it comes to dealing with problems; they feel that to uphold law in the galaxy they must do it by force.
The Vhozons' home planet is Vho, a planet that has an extremely cold climate and is covered in ice. Vhozon are born with insulated skin, as can be read by scanning Noxus in-game. They use the Vhoscythe to produce heat via friction to cope with the frigid temperatures as well.
[edit] Noxus
A spiritual being who walks a harsh, righteous path, Noxus has become a bounty hunter to administer justice to the galaxy's criminals and evildoers. As a Vhozon, Noxus may believe that any other race would be or could become corrupt in the quest for "Ultimate Power," giving him reason to attack all hunters including Samus. Otherwise, it is far more likely he would be allied with Samus. He is seen battling Trace in Sic Transit.
Weapon of choice: Judicator (Fires a single beam of supercooled plasma that ricochets off walls before dissapating. When charged it shoots three of these. When wielded by Noxus, the charged shot creates a short-ranged shock wave that freezes the enemy in place temporarily.
Alternate Form: Vhoscythe (A Vhozon evolutionary defense mechanism. Noxus becomes what resembles a spinning top. A retractable scythe attached to the "top" can be used to attack enemies.)
[edit] Voldrum
Small, drum-shaped robots which are equipped with two turrets capable of firing a range of projectile types and ramming its targets. Voldrums roll around on the floor and are much easier to kill than Guardians.
[edit] Voldrum
A basic Voldrum is orangish in color. It fires groups of Battlehammer-type projectiles, with a fast rate of fire. All weapons are effective on the basic voldrum.
[edit] Electro Voldrum
The Electro Voldrum is yellowish in color. It fires two balls of electric energy, which can scramble Samus's visor, similar to the Volt Driver. A rapid-fire weapon is effective against the Electro Voldrum.
[edit] Ice Voldrum
The Ice Voldrum is blue and purple. It fires chunks of ice that can freeze the target solid that look like Judicator blasts, but don't ricochet. The Magmaul is effective against the Ice Voldrum.
[edit] Magma Voldrum
The Magma Voldrum is reddish in color. It shoots two fireballs from its twin cannons. The Judicator is effective against the Magma Voldrum.
[edit] Weavel
Weavel is a former soldier of some high rank in the Space Pirate army who was severely wounded by Samus Aran at Brinstar (as described in the game's official strategy) leaving only his brain and spinal cord intact. As a result of the injury Weavel sustained he was given surgery similar to the Space Pirate leader Ridley, being that what was left of him was surgically implanted into a new robotic body, because of this the hunter can separate its torso from its lower body, which becomes a stationary turret. A power suit based off of Samus's own power suit was then grafted onto Weavel. It is unknown if he seeks the treasure of the Alimbic Cluster for the Space Pirates, or for himself, but he will remain with the Space Pirates as long as it's convenient. He enjoys missions that no other Space Pirate could accomplish because of their reptilian/insectoid physique (and possibly due to the lack of a mechanical power suit).
Weapon Of Choice: Battlehammer - A powerful mortar beam that fires explosive shots rapidly in an arc with a very small splash radius. When Weavel wields it, it does more damage and has a far greater splash radius.
Altform: Halfturret - Weavel's body is split into two separate parts, splitting his health and making his lower body become an automatic, stationary turret that shoots non affinity powered battlehammer shots that do not use UA ammo, while his upper body continues to move about freely (meaning controlled by the player) wielding an energy sword. If his health is an odd number, the upper half gets more energy. The turret can hold 100 energy and the upper part can hold 199. Damage taken by the upper half will not do any harm to the turret, but if the turret is attacked, it damages Weavel as a whole. If the turret is destroyed, the upper part will have only 1 energy unit. The turret normally shoots at a small range. But if someone attacks the turret or upper part out of the original range, the turret will shoot at the person who shot it a few times. If the turret is shot from an extreme distance, the shots will NOT explode in midair. If the turret had affinity Battlehammers, it would still hit the distant target because Battlehammers have perfect accuracy over long distances when fired by the halfturret.
[edit] Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
[edit] Rundus
A bounty hunter with the ability to generate intense cold temperatures from his hands, allowing him to freeze Space Pirate Gunships in midair or create temporary ice slides to travel on. He first appears in the intro stage after Samus defeats a group of Space Pirates on an external platform, and shortly after that, catches her once the falling battle with Ridley has been finished.
[edit] Land Mine
When intruders are near they spring in the air and shoot in every direction. It's possible to destroy the unit by firing upon it.
[edit] Security Drone 1(Tentative)
The small flying drones never fight alone. They protect themselves with blue shields only to drop them to attack. When their shields are not active they can be harmed.
[edit] Security Drone 2(Tentative)
Small mobile weapons that crawl along any surface. They only attack when they're not moving.
[edit] Security Drone 3(Tentative)
These drones appear when intruders come close to their boundaries. They fly around the intruder(s) and pause to fire projectiles at them. It's difficult to keep a Lock-On these drones, so they must be aimed at manually.
[edit] Space Pirate Mini-Boss(Tentative)
Not much is known about this Space Pirate, only that it's bigger than the other Space Pirates. It is seen ready to attack Samus just before the demo for Corruption ends. It appears to have claws similar to a crustacean and is likely to be its main attack.
