Dean Bowditch (born 15 June 1986 in Hertfordshire) is an English professional footballer.
A trainee at the Academy at Ipswich Town, he made it into the first team in 2003, and made the headlines when he scored a hat-trick against Watford in front of the Sky Sports cameras.
He went out on loan to Burnley for two months toward the end of the 2005 season, where he managed a single goal in eight matches.
In the 2005/2006 season, he went on loan to Wycombe Wanderers, where again he managed just a solitary goal.
In August 2006 he scored his first goal for 22 months in Ipswich Town's win over QPR.
At the beginning of November 2006, he joined Brighton on loan, and had his loan spell extended at the Withdean until 1 January 2007. Once at the Withdean, Bowditch picked up a groin injury which limited his first-team experience with the Seagulls, and thus leading the player going back to Ipswich for treatment on his injury. Bowditch did return to the Seagulls after being given the all clear by the Ipswich medical team, and made his first and only start for the club away at Oldham, the game finished 1-1. Bowditch then had a recurrence of his initial groin injury and returned to Ipswich at the end of his loan spell, where it is likely he will need surgery on the injured groin.
On 31st January, Dean rejoined Brighton, this time initally for a one-month spell, but if he can prove his fitness, it is expected that he will stay at the Withdean until the end of the domestic season.
