Der World Award wurde 2000 initiiert. Mit einem "World Award" werden Männer ausgezeichnet, die sich in wichtigen Bereichen als "echte Männer" erwiesen haben. Präsident der World Awards ist Michail Gorbatschow. Seit 2004 gibt es auch einen Women's World Award.
