Elkins Park, Pennsylvania

Elkins Park is an unincorporated community, portions of which are located in both Cheltenham Township, Pennsylvania and Abington Township, Pennsylvania in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is an affluent neighborhood, predominantly Jewish with some African American, with many ethnicities, including Irish and Korean.
Elkins Park lies roughly 9.4 miles from Center City, Philadelphia, a 20 minute ride. Elkins Park is the home of the only synagogue ever designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, Beth Sholom Synagogue. Tyler School of Art, the art school of Temple University is also found in Elkins Park.

Elkins Park is served by SEPTA Regional Rail trains on the R1 Airport, R2 Warminster, R3 West Trenton and R5 Lansdale at the Elkins Park station). The Jenkintown, Melrose Park, and Ryers stations are also located close to the neighborhood of Elkins Park, and are served by the same regional rail lines (with the exception of Ryers, which is served by the R8 Fox Chase).
SEPTA bus routes 28, 55, and 77 also provide service to Elkins Park.

Toward the western end of Elkins Park is Pennsylvania Route 611 (Old York Road). In Elkins Park, Pennsylvania Route 73 runs along Township Line Road, mostly marking the border between Cheltenham and Abington townships.
