MTV (Music Television) Türkiye is the Turkish subsidiary of MTV, officially launched on October 23, 2006. The first broadcast of the channel was Nil Karaibrahimgil's brand new music video Peri.
The channel plans to combine local and international music, as well as MTV's trademark shows such as Jackass, Pimp My Ride, I Bet You Will, Dirty Sanchez, Wild Boyz, Viva la Bam, Celebrity Deathmatch and I Want A Famous Face which will be shown with subtitles in Turkish.
MTV Turkey made a launch party on 17th November, 2006 in Istanbul. The Pussycat Dolls came to Istanbul for the launch of MTV.
