This is the page to deal with discussion and nominations for the U.S. Collaboration of the Week (USCOTW). The USCOTW is a collaborative effort led by participants to improve different United States articles, selected every two weeks. A mob of editors then deskeletonizes it, and the result is announced to wide acclaim. You do not have to be from the United States to help out with this collaboration.
As of now, 3 previous USCOTWs, History of New Jersey, Music of the United States, and Mount Rushmore have been promoted to featured article status. 3 additional USCOTWs have received good article status.

[edit] Nominations
The next USCOTW will be picked on Monday, October 23, by the highest number of votes. The current time is 04:57, March 29, 2007.
Nominations need to be supported by at least two voters per week to stay on the list. Failed nominations can be renominated any time. (Archived nominations) Past improvements and the results can be seen at Wikipedia:U.S. Wikipedians' notice board/USCOTW/History.
In the event of a tie between two nominations, the one that was most recently nominated becomes the new USCOTW.

[edit] Junior State of America (1 votes, stays until 15 January 2007)
- Nominated 18:45, 8 January 2007 (UTC); needs 2 votes by 15 January 2007 (minimum 2 votes per week)
Support:
- Agent 86 18:45, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
Comments:
- While I'm not American, I have come across this organization in the past and it seemed to be quite a large and successful organization. It certainly seems to have some notability in the United States. The article certainly could use more hands to bring it to a higher standard. Agent 86 18:45, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

- Remove Template:UScur from the old USCOTW and add it to the new one.

- Correct the new changing date located above at Nominations. Cut and paste the above nomination and move it to WP:USCOTWN
- Update the information on WP:USCOTWHIST, adding the information about the last USCOTW and the date, # of votes, article name, and # of words onto the top of the wikitable.
Maintenance also involves the updating of the "U.S. topics on other COTWs" section and the updating of vote tallies and removal dates.
