"I Am Mine" was the first single from Pearl Jam's 2002 album, Riot Act. The single features the B-side "Down". Some versions of the single also contain "Bu$hleaguer" and "Undone". The song was released in October 2002 and peaked at #6 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart. The band played this song when they appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman to support the album. The song was included on Pearl Jam's greatest hits album, Rearviewmirror: Greatest Hits 1991-2003.

[edit] Lyrical meaning
The song was written by Eddie Vedder in a hotel room before the band's first show after the Roskilde tragedy in 2000.[1] At the band's July 8, 2003 show at Madison Square Garden Vedder stated, "This song’s about personal safety, and the feeling of being secure, and even free."[2]
[edit] Music video
A music video directed by James Frost was filmed for the song at Seattle's Chop Suey club in September of 2002, though it was merely a live performance rather than a conceptual video. It was one of five videos shot at the club to promote Riot Act (including "Save You", "Love Boat Captain", "Thumbing My Way", and "1/2 Full"). Up to that point the band had not made any music videos since 1998's "Do the Evolution".
