[edit] Route description
Interstate 684 begins at interchange 20 from I-84 (map) in Brewster, New York. Heading south, I-684 then enters Westchester County where it meets with the northern end of the Saw Mill River Parkway in Bedford, New York. I-684 then briefly cuts across the northwest corner of the Connecticut panhandle in Fairfield County, Connecticut, in which no exits exist. This portion of roadway is maintained by the New York State Department of Transportation but owned by the Connecticut Department of Transportation and is 1.4 miles long. The road then passes by Westchester County Airport (at Exit 2). The roadway splits into two branches at Exit 1. The main line continues southwest towards Interstate 287 at the White Plains city line. The other branch continues southeast towards the Hutchinson River Parkway in Harrison, New York (this stub signed as I-684 is New York State Reference Route 984J).
