[edit] History
IRCHighway is a large IRC-network with around 10,000 users connected every day. The network consists of over 20 servers scattered all over the world and was founded in 2000 as fxpers.net. The network was later re-named irc-chat and had at the time about 3000 users. Around February 2003 the network was once again renamed to IRCHighway after the split of around 1/3 of its servers. It gained the majority of its new userbase after DALNet experienced some extensive DDoS attacks and was offline for quite some time.
