It Was a Short Summer, Charlie Brown is one of many prime-time animated TV specials based upon the popular comic strip Peanuts, by Charles M. Schulz. It was directed by Bill Melendez and originally aired on the CBS network in 1969.
The Peanuts gang all go to summer camp, where they must put up with poor food and with the girls' half of the camp winning all the sports competitions. To get even, the boys challenge them to a wrist-wrestling contest between Lucy and "The Masked Marvel" - Snoopy in disguise.

- The wrist-wrestling contest was loosely based on a series of Peanuts strips which appeared during the mid 1960s.
- When Snoopy is driving the bus, in his fantasy, all the other people are Snoopys too.
- Ironically, Peppermint Patty frequently calls Lucy sir as Lucy is the head of the girls' group at the camp. Marcie calling Peppermint Patty that would become a staple of the strip and TV specials (which started a few years after this special).
