Herodotus (Yunani: Ἡρόδοτος, Herodotos) adalah ahli sejarah yang hidup pada abad ke-5 SM (±484 SM - 425 SM). Ia dikenal karena tulisannya "Sejarah" (Yunani: Ιστοριης απόδεξις), suatu kumpulan cerita mengenai berbagai tempat dan orang yang ia kumpulkan sepanjang perjalanannya. Karena karyanya ini, ia sering dianggap sebagai "Bapak Sejarah".
