Jalgaon District (जळगाव) was formerly known as East Khandesh District. It has an area of 11,765 km², and a population of 3,682,690 (2001 census) of which 28.59% were urban. [1]
It is bounded by Madhya Pradesh state on the north, and by the districts of Buldhana to the east, Jalna on the southeast, Aurangabad on the south, Nashik on the southwest, and Dhule on the west.

In the district include Adavad, Amalner, Bhusawal, Changdev, Kapileshwar Pal & Yawal, Parola : Shree Balaji, Unapdev, and Adgaon: Satpuda Manudevi Temple.
The famous photographer and connessieur, Sanjoy Bannerjee, the world famous Vedic Mathematician Arya Bhatt belongs to Jalgaon District. It's also a karmabhumi of Sane Guruji and great marathi poet Balkawi.
