[edit] Request regarding dialect differention
Hi. I'm guessing that you are the one who provided a standard romanization for my freehand version of Taibei Taiwanese. I was going to digitize the sentence I tried to write out, which I have on an old phono disk, but then I wouldn't know how to romanize it correctly. If you are a native speaker of S. Min, could you please make a WAV file or equivalent and link it to that point? I think I can get a Mandarin speaker to do the same thing for the other sentence. Thanks. P0M

Hi Kaihsu, I notice you just changed "not not" back to "neither nor" in the translation of Ni Putes Ni Soumises... I wasn't sure about that myself. I know that's the dictionary translation of "ni... ni" I just wasn't sure if it really represented the catchiness and power of the phrase in French; neither... nor is awfully formal in English, in spoken language people would be more likely to say "not.. or". To me, the phrase "nous sommes ni putes ni soumises" is a more direct and powerful than "we are neither whores nor submissives". :) fabiform | talk 11:15, 11 Feb 2004 (UTC)

[edit] nomination for adminship
Hey, thanks for the nomination!
One of the reasons I didn't accept it yet is that I'm still not sure if I want to become involved in time-consuming wikipedia even deeper ;-/. Of course, being an admin doesn't necessarily mean to become involved deeper -- but I'm not sure about two things. One is "morality" (or something); with an adminship maybe I'll feel I need to meedle even further with our bureaucracy and decision making processes etc. The other thing is "usefulness" -- if with an adminship I'll behave mostly like a standard non-admin contributor, I'm not sure if there is any use in that (besides of this being a sort of honor). The way I understand it, Natural Resources Canada's "non-commericial use" condition is not compatible with the GFDL, so I don't think "Image:Canada eng.jpg" complies with the Wikipedia:Image use policy. - Hello Kaihsu, It would make sense if the nonsense on the Sealand page is moved back to the existing Principality of Sealand page where it belongs and the redirect removed from that page and placed instead on Sealand to point to Sealand (disambiguation).
- This silly "Principality of Sealand" page makes Wiki look really stupid because the facts are not addressed. The UN and nations of the world, especially US and USA have stated on the legal record in a court of law (1990 and reaffirmed in 1991) that the claims by Bates are silly and untrue. The Cabinet of the UK essentially called Bates a "nut" back in 1967. Ryan Lackey who founded Havenco has admitted to the truth of the ship court case of 1990-1991 which he claims to have been unaware of and also claims on his web site that Bates deceived him. He also laments that he has no place to sue because "Sealand" is essentially a hoax and a fraud. Yet this stupid site starts out by claiming that it is a "micronation", which is silly because it is sunken Royal Navy barge - a military wreck which has always been marked by UK taxpayer's buoys put there by the UK Ministry of Defence. The UK has slapped down EVERY claim that Bates ever made about starting a radio, TV or data transfer station on the old military wreck. They even forbade him from putting his own buoys in the water! What more does anyone want? The HM Solicitor for the Treasury stated that all UK courts have jurisdiction and Essex Police who did board the wreck once, have also admitted to having jurisdiction. The fact is that the squatters are not doing anything and staying within UK law so the UK doesn't care. The only people who do care and who are inventing this silly story are fans on Wiki!

I appreciate your intention, but it is an absolute of election law that you cannot 'publish and promote' one group of candidates without doing so for another. The tv news here even has to do so whenever they talk about the elections. It shows they have won 1 major football tournament (the 1966 World Cup Final). It is not unique to England, several other countries have followed this trend recently, although there is not a standard. It was started by Brazil as a celebration of the fact that they have won more World Cups than any other nation1. When you revert someone's actions, please note in the description why you did so. At least when it's not blatant vandalism. I do not understand why you reverted my edit, is the image in any way offensive? Hi Kaihsu,
I'm not particularly familiar with the intricacies of church denominations, but I noticed that you established the original redirects for the Presbyterian Church in England and Congregational Church in England. These have later been changed by an anon to point to The Orthodox Free Reformed Church (OFRC) which distances itself from the United Reformed Church. Hi, I've started the Free the Rambot Articles Project which has the goals of getting users to multi-license all of their contributions that they've made to...

using the Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike (CC-by-sa) version 1.0 and 2.0 Licenses or into the public domain if they prefer. The CC-by-sa license is a true free documentation license that is similar to the GFDL (which every contribution made to Wikipedia is licensed under), but it allows other projects, such as WikiTravel, to use our articles (See the Multi-licensing Guide for more information). Since you are among the top 1000 most active Wikipedians, I was wondering if you would be willing to multi-license all of your contributions or at minimum those on the geographic articles.
- Nutshell: Wikipedia articles can be shared with any other GFDL project but open/free projects using the incompatible Creative Commons Licenses (e.g. WikiTravel) can't use our stuff and we can't use theirs. It is important to us that other free projects can use our stuff. So we use their licenses too.
To allow us to track those users who muli-license their contributions, many users copy and paste the {{DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual}} template (or {{MultiLicensePD}} for public domain) into their user page, but there are other templates for other options at Template messages/User namespace. The following examples could also copied and pasted into your user page:
- Option 1
- I agree to [[Wikipedia:Multi-licensing|multi-license]] all my contributions, with the exception of my user pages, as described below:
- {{DualLicenseWithCC-BySA-Dual}}
OR
- Option 2
- I agree to [[Wikipedia:Multi-licensing|multi-license]] all my contributions to any [[U.S. state]], county, or city article as described below:

I reverted your change on Ångström regarding his title. Neither the docent nor the Privatdozent articles really reflect what the Swedish docent title denotes (and this has changed over time).
