There's an interesting experience going on over at WikiProject California, and WikiProject Southern California.
Some time ago, WikiProject California members had placed their project tags on all articles about California cities. Those tags have been in place for some time. Recently certain members of WikiProject Southern California, after discussion on that project's talk page (only), decided to remove the WikiProject California tags for (almost all) Southern California cities, and replace the tags with WikiProject Southern California tags - only.
That is, the WikiProject Southern California members didn't simply add the WikiProject Southern California tag to Southern California cities, the WikiProject California tags were completely removed. This was done apparently without consultation with the WikiProject California members.
We are gathering responses to the following questions on those projects' talk pages:
- Do you have a view whether the WikiProject California tag should be removed from a large number of cities in Southern California?
- Do you have a view whether city article for Southern California cities should have more than one WikiProject tag?

[edit] Bryant/Artest photo clarification
I'm not sure if you're saying that your cousin is the rightful owner of the photo or not. Like I said, AP says they own it. If that's wrong, then fine. Just put add the real and correct info to the photo and the discrepancy can then be tracked down pretty easily by contacting AP. I'll do it myself, if you like.
If, though, you're just saying your cousin grabbed a copy of the photo from AP cuz he or she worked there . . . well that doesn't cut it. It's still AP's photo, they still have the copyright and we can't legally use it here. Mwelch 23:20, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
- Well, first off, I don't know you from Adam's off ox, and you have no power to influence my the quality of life, either positively or negatively. So given that . . . I really couldn't care less whether you "hate" users like me or not. I'm sorry, but your personal opinion of me just honestly isn't something that matters to me in the least.
- But I will say that I'm sorry that you seem to view the whole situation as some sort of personal contest, because I know I certainly don't. If you want to help Wikipedia, then one way to do that is to try to limit the Wikimedia Foundation's possible exposure to lawsuits. And allowing users to incorporate copyrighted photographs into articles, without anyone even making an effort to stop it is, frankly, a good way to eventually get sued by someone at some point.
- I sincerely hope you'll follow through on what you said, and indeed find other pictures that are suitable and legal for use to help enhance the encyclopedia, as well as making other useful edits and contibutions to Wikipedia's content. Mwelch 00:09, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

It may be a little too early since they aren't a real team. The article was also deleted one (when it was called John Cena and Shawn Michaels). You may want to get a broader consenus at WP:PW since other more notable teams have been deleted before for not being notable. TJ Spyke 05:06, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

It's up to you, but I don't think you should retire from WP. From what i've seen, you tend to make a lot of good edits. You occasionally make mistakes (like creating an article for Cena & Michaels), but those are rare. TJ Spyke 01:39, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
