List of Fullmetal Alchemist episodes
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This is the complete episode listing for all the animation produced for Fullmetal Alchemist (鋼の錬金術師 Hagane no Renkinjutsushi?) based on the manga authored by Hiromu Arakawa. The series consists of 51 episodes and one movie.
Fullmetal Alchemist was first aired on the Tokyo Broadcasting System (TBS) in Japan on October 4, 2003 with the episode "To Challenge the Sun", and concluded with "Episode 51" on October 2, 2004. The final episode was afterward titled "Laws and Promises" by the American distributor Funimation. Some fan groups also adopted the title "Munich 1921" for the final episode based on a caption that appears late in the episode.
A 105 minute movie titled Fullmetal Alchemist the Movie: Conqueror of Shamballa, which told a new story beyond the end of the anime, was released in Japan on July 23, 2005 and in the U.S. on September 12, 2006.
Due to the popularity of the series, the 26th Annual Animage Magazine Readers Poll recognized six of the first nine episodes as being among the best TV anime released in 2003. "Night of the Chimera's Cry" was the top rated episode, with the five other honored episodes being: "Mother" (3rd Place), "The Alchemy Exam" (4th Place), "The Man with the Mechanical Arm" (5th Place), "To Challenge the Sun" (7th Place) and "Be Thou for the People" (10th Place).
