Miss World 1987

The 37th Miss World Pageant was held on November 12, 1987 in the Royal Albert Hall, London, UK. The winner was Ulla Weigerstorfer (Queen of Europe) from Austria. Runner up was Albani Josefina Lozada Jimenez (Queen of Americas) from Venezuela, and third was Anna Margret Jonsdottir from Iceland.

- This is the first time that Miss World has twelve semi-finalists, and six out of the semi-finalists went straight into the Top 6 finalists.
- Preliminary swimsuits in Miss World 1987 were shot in the island of Malta.
- Hong Kong was placed as 4th runner-up in Miss Universe 1988 which was held in Taiwan. Iceland, Anna Margret Jonsdóttir, who placed as 2nd runner-up in Miss World, failed to put her through into the semi-finals in Miss Universe 1988.
- First time records
- United Kingdom failed to make into the semi-finals after 30 years.
- United States failed to make into the semi-finals after 11 years.
- Guam had received the award for Queen of Oceania for the first time other than Australia or New Zealand.
- Argentina returned to Miss World after a 5-year war in the Falkland Islands against the rule of United Kingdom.
- Belize and Cook Islands competed in Miss World for the first time.
