The Order of Chaos are a major group of villains in the Dungeons & Dragons-inspired webcomic Mayhem & Magic, which combines elements of the Order of the Stick and 8-Bit Theater.

[edit] Members
The members of the Order of Chaos mostly embody the element of Chaos as described in the original Player's Handbook.
[edit] Silventread Firebane
The rogue Silventread Firebane (often called Silven) is descended from a group of human conquerors who were defeated by Darklight Ragingfire, the ancestor of the Order of the Law's own rogue, Silverhead Ragingfire (Silver for short). As a result, the Firebane and Ragingfire families do not get along at all, especially Silven and Silver.
Silven is an effective planner, much like OOTS character Nale, who is the evil brother of the Order of the Stick's Elan and leader of the Linear Guild much as Silven is leader of the Order of Chaos. However, whereas Nale enjoys killing people, Silven very rarely kills anyone, though like Nale, Silven still enjoys giving a choice insult now and then. Ever since the Order of Chaos met the Order of the Law, Silven has been going to great lengths to see to it that his new enemies are eliminated permanently (and the quicker, the better).
Silventread, along with the rest of his team, was granted an alignment and class change by a disembodied voice. As seen in Comic #40 (where the Order of Chaos defeat three assassins sent to eradicate them), Silven took on the sorcerer class, though he retained his skills as a rogue.
[edit] Shadow Demon
The opposite of the only anonymous member of the Order of Law, the truly evil Shadow Demon is also gender-ambiguous and the most cold and calculating member of the Order of Chaos. Like MP, Shadow Demon is a demonic cleric of The Arch-Lich, resulting in a fierce rivalry between the two (as they serve the same god but are on opposing sides).
Shadow Demon enjoys casting spells indefinitely, an ability hampered by the fact that, being a cleric (s)he can only cast the spells (s)he has prepared. When the Order of the Law and the Order of Chaos first met, and subsequently fought each other, Shadow Demon easily overcame the Mysterious Person in combat[1], only being defeated when the Mysterious Person somehow managed to open an "extra-dimensional portal" (actually a panel to another strip) and shoved the demonic villain into it.
As a result of this, Shadow Demon is deadset on getting revenge on the Mysterious Person, though (s)he is actually unsure of how to go about doing this. With a new altered class, as of Comic #30, (s)he might actually be able to defeat the Mysterious Person single-handedly; however, (s)he decided not to change his/her class for fear of losing the influence of the Arch-Lich.
[edit] Mysteria
The opposite of half-elf wizard Mysta, the curious Mysteria lives up to her name. She can be truly mysterious and cryptic with her statements, and never gives up a chance to criticize her teammates.
Unlike the Shadow Demon, Mysteria is capable of casting spells on the fly, as she is a sorcerer (an ability she now shares with her leader, Silven). Mysteria admitted to Mysta while fighting her that she was "only with these losers so [she could] fulfill [her] destiny[2]", that destiny being to find a long-lost amulet called the "Fire Dragon Amulet" which would give her all the powers of a dragon. However, she also admitted that she had decided to give up looking for the Amulet, seeing as how Silventread thinks she's powerful enough already (she is known to have a minor crush on her leader, similar to the crush Sabine of the Linear Guild has on her leader, Nale).
Despite being a sorcerer, Mysteria has admitted (only to her teammates, of course) that she wished to one day become a world-famous bard. It is eventually revealed in Comic #40 that she has kept her Chaotic alignment, but was somehow able to con the disembodied voice into letting her take on the bard class, while letting her stay a sorcerer.
[edit] Magical Elf
Analogous to the Linear Guild's Thog or Fighter of the Light Warriors, the Magical Elf is a childish bard who sees life as being one big game. As a result, he can be rather clueless in times of danger, though the clever Silven knows just what to say to keep the Elf focused on the task at hand. Unlike Thog, who speaks in third person, the Magical Elf speaks properly, though he can be hyperactive at times, which is shown in his manner of speaking (he speaks very rapidly).
Silven has claimed[3] that the Magical Elf's current "condition" is the result of an accident in his past: while experimenting with magic, he used up too much of his brain and was left with only four-fifths of it. This is a rather accurate description of Magical Elf, especially considering Silventread's penchant for lying. Despite this, Magical Elf has proven to be one of the toughest villains of the comic, having used to magic to fuse two members of the Order of Good, Maxis and Doman, into one character, named Mado (taken from the first parts of each name: Maxis and Doman).
When he was asked what alignment and class he would change to, Magical Elf made the entirely frivolous suggestion that he become an ûber-powerful wizard, though the disembodied voice said that he would not be able to, much to his utter disappointment.
