The Sand's allies - The Leaf's shinobi (Japanese: 砂の同盟国 木ノ葉の忍 - Suna no dōmeikoku - Konoha no shinobi) is the episode number 217 of the anime series Naruto, and the ninth episode of the 9th season.

The Sand Siblings (Gaara,Temari, and Kankuro) catch up to their enemies and begin to battle. Unfortunately, they quickly discover that they are outmatched! Thanks to their opponents' powerful weapons, Temari and Kankuro are nearly defeated.
Temari's opponent, Kyaku, is also a wind user. Because of her special wind swords she does not have to spend as much chakra as Temari does for her wind attacks. She also seems to be able to deflect and "cut" through Temari's wind blasts. After a long battle we find out she has worn down Temari and Temari is forced to use her strongest jutsu. She creates a tornado that engulfs her opponent, but Kyaku quickly counters it and the tornado heads for Temari. Temari is thrown by the force of the tornado making her hit a nearby tree, knocking her unconscious and leaving her totally vulnerable.
Kankuro is having as much trouble as Temari. His opponent, Ryūgan, has a special three-bladed sword that has two attacks. First, the blades are jointed and connected by wires, so they can extend and retract at the user's will. Second, when the user focuses his chakra through them, they turn into a three-headed dragon composed of water. It is this second attack which allows Kankuro's enemy to break free of Kuroari and cut an arm off of Karasu. With both of his puppets defeated, Kankuro's only option is to dodge the ruthless and relentless attacks of his opponent. But he can only dodge for so long.
Gaara's opponent wears a special chakra-draining armor, and his weapon is a flail with a long chain. When Gaara attempts to crush his opponent using his Sand Coffin, he finds out that his opponent drained the chakra of the sand, turning it into normal, motionless sand.
With Temari unconscious and Kankuro at the brink of defeat, their opponents attempt to finish them off. Luckily, Team Shikamaru arrives just in time to help them. Ironically, Shikamaru saves Temari and Kiba saves Kankuro (the reverse of what happened during the Sasuke Retrieval Arc). Shikamaru uses his Shadow Imitation Technique to make Temari do a somersault, dodging the tornado, while Kiba and Akamaru block Kankuro's attacker's sword attack with their Man Beast Combination Transformation: Double-Headed Wolf. Meanwhile, Naruto and Lee race to help Gaara.
