WDKY-TV, "Fox 56" is the Fox network affiliate for greater Lexington and the East Central Kentucky region. Its transmitter is located at Clays Ferry, Kentucky.
[edit] History
WDKY-TV signed on the air February 13, 1985, as an independent television station. In 1986 WDKY was a charter Fox affiliate. Sinclair Broadcast Group acquired WDKY from Max Media in 2001. At one point, it was owned by Taft Broadcasting, and later, TVX.
In 1995, WDKY started its 10PM newscast, which was not part of the now-defunct News Central initiative. The newscast is produced by WKYT.
Starting on March 12, 2007, WDKY will have an hour of news at 7AM produced by WKYT as well.
