[edit] Structure
Originally conceived as a descendent project of Wikipedia:WikiProject Drugs, this project seeks to deal with the subject of hallucinogens in a wider scope than the drugs project, creating systems of categorization that solve some of the problems encountered by the drugs project when dealing with hallucinogens due to the narrower scope of the drugs project. This project deals not only with chemical substances, but also people, organizations and concepts related to hallucinogens, plants, as well as categorizations such as entheogens and empathogen-entactogens that are not limited solely to chemical class and effects, but have more to do with cultural factors.
Primarily the project focuses on categorization of hallucinogens and associated concepts, people, plants, and so on; it also seeks to expand the present articles and add new ones where needed.
[edit] Hierarchy definition
see Wikipedia:WikiProject Psychedelics, Dissociatives and Deliriants/categorization
Currently, Category:Psychedelics, dissociatives and deliriants is used as the umbrella category.
[edit] Goals
- The number one goal of the project is to give Wikipedians an accurate, efficient, and easy-to-read explanation of the chemical, sociological, anthropological, psychological, botanical, and religious aspects of all Psychedelics, dissociatives and deliriants.
- Systematically categorize all Psychedelics, dissociatives and deliriants related articles.
- Create new message boxes, infoboxes, and templates to accurately organize all of the artPsychedelics, dissociatives and deliriantsPsychoactive drug]]s and create new pages when needed in order to improve and explain all substances.
- Include accurate pictures and illustrations of all Psychedelics, dissociatives and deliriants that provide a thorough explanation of the substance in question.

[edit] Proposal for reorginization of Psychedelic mushroom, Psilocybe, and Amanita muscaria
Basically, I propose to split up Psychedelic mushroom and part of Psilocybe, and merge the psilocybin mushroom-related sections into Psilocybin mushroom (Psilocybin would remain a separate article) and the Amanita muscaria-related info into Amanita muscaria. Psychedelic mushroom would be a disambiguation page.
