Wish FM is the Independent Local Radio station for Wigan and St Helens, broadcasting on 102.4FM. The station takes its name from the initials WIgan and St Helens.
It broadcasts on 102.4 FM from the transmitter at Billinge Hill, between Billinge and Longshaw on the A571. The studios are in Orrell, Metropolitan Borough of Wigan [1]. It has been owned by The Wireless Group(now UTV Radio) since 1999, being owned before by the Independent Radio Group. It started broadcasting on 1 April 1997.
It does much collaboration with the rugby league team, Wigan Warriors and the Premiership football club Wigan Athletic.
