[edit] History
WXOW signed on the air March 7, 1970 as a satellite sister to WKOW/Madison. By the 1980s they would start adding their programming and concentrate on the La Crosse/Eau Claire market. WXOW's newscast was aired from 1980-82 and 1990-96 on sister station WQOW/Eau Claire. From 1982-90, WXOW provided weather segments during WQOW's newscasts. In the early 2000s, the station also began to operate cable-only WBCZ on channel 15 on most cable systems in the La Crosse area.
WXOW now has on its DTV subcarrier the area's new affiliate for The CW Plus which is also shown on cable channel 15.
