[edit] Image copyright tags
Thanks for uploading Image:Ade m-1-.gif. I notice it currently doesn't have an image copyright tag.
Could you add one to let us know its copyright status? (You can use gfdl if you release it under the GFDL, or fairuse if you claim fair use, etc.) If you don't know what any of this means, just let me know where you got the images and I'll tag them for you. Thanks so much, Zzyzx11 (Talk) 14:44, 23 May 2005 (UTC)
- Could you also please add an image copyright tag to all of the other images you recently uploaded? Zzyzx11 (Talk) 14:44, 23 May 2005 (UTC)
[edit] improper moving
When you want to move an article to La Liga to Spanish First Division, do not move it by copy&paste because that loses the history. I've moved it properly, I've got admin rights to ditch a redirect. You simply should have asked. --Joy [shallot] 14:34, 16 July 2005 (UTC)
Also, on a more content-related note, did you consider what to do with LFP overall? Most references are to the first division, but there could be another page for the league organization that would be an intro to all divisions. --Joy [shallot] 14:38, 16 July 2005 (UTC)
Maybe I'm being obtuse here, but you can't read or something? You just did another improper move with Template:Spanish Handball First Division, and there there was absolutely no technical reason not to use the fine move option. What is the problem? --Joy [shallot] 01:22, 20 July 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Images
Hi. Would it be possible for you to tag all the images you have uploaded recently with the correct tag? I think the one you are looking for with the football club logos is logo. Others can be found at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags. If you need any more help, feel free to contact me on my talk page. Cheers, smoddy 16:45, 27 July 2005 (UTC)
- Yes,I am safe and these are the correct tags, nevertheless, what is your problem? Raymond Cruise 19:00, 27 July 2005 (UTC)
- Um, what is your question? If you are asking why I asked you to put those tags on, it was because Wikipedia needs to protect itself against accusations of copyright violation, so we must note where our images came from and why we think we are allowed to use them. It is to protect ourselves. Cheers, smoddy 17:05, 27 July 2005 (UTC)
- I put the tags, but i dont understand, what is your problem? Smody Raymond Cruise 19:20, 27 July 2005 (UTC)
- Related to this, you seem to have tagged two of your uploaded images for Swedish football clubs with hqfl logos, which seems rather strange, as I can't find them on the HQFL site. This goes for Image:Halmstads BK.png and Image:IFK Göteborg.png (which is a better pic than the one used before, where have you found it?). -- Elisson • Talk 17:03, 27 July 2005 (UTC)
- This pics, indeed:Johan Ellison, are good pics with better quality of image. The sources;Johan Ellison, I do not say it, they are personal. Raymond Cruise 19:15, 27 July 2005 (UTC)
- That was not my main question. I wanted you to change tags on the two images to more proper ones. Can you do so, please? Why can't you reveal your sources, are you afraid that I would "steal" the images? -- Elisson • Talk 17:24, 27 July 2005 (UTC)
- The pics;Johan Ellison, they are not robbed, absolutely. The second question: why i must change the photos? Raymond Cruise 19:30, 27 July 2005 (UTC)
- Firstly, my name is Elisson, not Ellison. Secondly, I don't think they are robbed. Thirdly, I want you to change the tag on the photos as the tag currently used (hqfl logos) is not correct as the images are not from HQFL.dk (as far as I can see). -- Elisson • Talk 17:36, 27 July 2005 (UTC)
- OK Johan Elisson, but ,which i must put? only this;Johan Elisson. Raymond Cruise 19:40, 27 July 2005 (UTC)
- The one that smoddy suggested in his first post, {logo}}. -- Elisson • Talk 17:45, 27 July 2005 (UTC)
- Which is this? is incorrect. Secondly, which are the photos to resolve? Raymond Cruise 19:50, 27 July 2005 (UTC)
- Probably most of the ones on here. smoddy 17:56, 27 July 2005 (UTC)
- All the pics?, and what tags I put in its place? Raymond Cruise 20:00, 27 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging Image:FC Metz.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:FC Metz.gif. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, ie in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use gfdl to release it under the GFDL. If you can claim fair use use fairuse.) See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

[edit] ACB/Asobal
Hola Raymond. He visto que has subido logotipos de clubes españoles de baloncesto y balonmano y les has aplicado una licencia GFDL. He estado en el sitio de la ACB y en de la Asobal y no he visto nada que apoye tales licencias. ¿Me he perdido algo? --Ecemaml 12:04, 2 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] RCD Espanyol team squad
I've seen that you have removed the team squad implementation of mine, based on the related template. That template was decided, discussed and implemented under the WikiProject Football, and it should be the one and only to be used for representing team squad. So, I am reverting back the template. Ciao. --Angelo 03:44, 18 December 2005 (UTC)

[edit] National squad list
I notice that you have started tabularising the squad lists at 2006 African Cup of Nations (squads). I would urge you to instead use the templates nat fs start, nat fs player and nat fs end instead, which are in turn based on the likes of fs player &c.. They have already been applied at most of the European Championship squad lists (see eg 1984 European Football Championship (squads)) and World Cup sqaud lists (see eg Football World Cup 1990 (squads)), and will be applied to the ACN squad lists in the future as well. Thanks! --Pkchan 15:17, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you for your concurring reply on my talk page. My plan is to update all pages under Category:Football tournament squads (and its sub-categories) to adopt the new format, but haven't been able to done all of them yet, due to both time constraints and technical difficulties (some pages, and in particular Football World Cup 1994 (squads), are rather unhandy for massive replacement using regular expressions). It would be of immense value if you would help transforming any of them. The ACN squad lists, in my opinion, can be a good starting point. --Pkchan 15:52, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

- Pkchan, one question: respect to the clubs of the players in the 1994 World Cup; do i have to put her current club/retired or that club of that year? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Raymond Cruise (talk • contribs) . originally appeared on User talk:Pkchan#OK, i agree with You

- It's been a common practice for all the squad lists to include the professional club which a player has been playing for as of the time of the tournament. The same practice should go for the 1994 World Cup one.
- By the way, please reply from now on here on this page. I have watched this space and will be notified when you reply here. This will make the whole discussion more coherent and easy to trace for the onlookers. --Pkchan 17:58, 27 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] re: Copa de Rey de Balonmano
Hello. May I ask why this page was blanked ? I assumed it was the missing 'L' in the title. I've reverted the blanking and moved it to Copa del Rey de Balonmano, preserving the edit history with you as the first author. If you really want this article deleted, please let me know and I'll delete it, or you can tag the article with author's request to get another admin to do it. Thanks. -- PFHLai 16:42, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Rugby league
Thank you for recently editing the Rugby league article. You added a wikilink to Rugby in Spain I believe. However, this is somewhat irrelevant for this article. This "Rugby league" article refers to the sport of rugby league. It does not refer to a rugby league, such as the guineess premiership. This is confusing, I agree. Reading History of rugby league will probably fill in quite a few gaps. Another good reference is Rugby, which will fill you in on both sports of rugby. POds 08:53, 31 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your cats
Please stop adding parent cats into articles. Some of the edits you've been doing add, for example, "Hispanic American actors" to an article that is already in "Mexican American actors". That category IS in "Hispanic American actors" so it's wholly redundant. However, many of your other edits are fine. Thanks for editing! --Golbez 18:06, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
- If the person is ONLY in "Hispanic American actors", then it's fine, if we have no specific origin.
- But if they are already in "Mexican American actors" then please don't put them in "Hispanic American actors", because that's already handled under "Mexican American actors". --Golbez 18:51, 14 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Parent categories (part II)
Hi there Raymond. I have a similar request to the one above- I've noticed that you've been re-adding the parent category Cat:Municipalities in Spain to a few articles on individual Spanish municipalities (such as at Paterna de Rivera), when they had already been assigned to an appropriate sub-category (based on Province), such as Cat:Municipalities in Huelva. Since there are obviously (and literally) thousands of municipalities in Spain, placing the article at that category level is not really going to be so useful. A fair amount of effort has been expended recently in moving articles from the parent Cat:Municipalities in Spain cat into the appropriate subcategory based on province. If the article is already in a category based on province, it would seem to be entirely redundant to also have it at the parent Spain category. Is there a particular reason why you'd like to see these articles at the municipalities in Spain level? If not, I would say that the articles need to remain at the municipality in <province> level only. Regards, --cjllw | TALK 05:03, 17 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Kalina of Bulgaria
Hi,
I saw that added Kalina of Bulgaria as Monarchy in Spain and Nobility in Spain. Is that right? I mean she is of the Royal family in Bulgaria. I know that she was born in Spain and married Spainard Antonio "Kitín" Muñoz Valcárcel. But as far as I know is not part of the Monarchy in Spain, so is she? Since you are Spanish, I thought I'd double check with you rather than change it back.--SVTCobra 22:14, 25 April 2006 (UTC)

I notice you have been adding and re-adding 'American emigrants' categories to various '(country) Americans' categories. By defintion, American 'emigrants' are people who have left America to live in some other country. They do not belong in any '(country) Americans' category, which are defined as people who have emigrated from another (country) to become immigrants to the U.S. What is your justification for making these changes? [edit] American people by ethnic and national origin
What do think about what one editor is doing to this category: including both the subcategories and their sub-subcategories in this category. Example: including both the 'European American' subcategory and then also directly including all the sub-categories (German American, English American, etc etc). I think what is being done does not meet the criteria for having category/subcategory duplication. I do not remember seeing this done in any other category. He is effectiively reverting all my work that tried to organize the 'american people by ethnic and national origin' category to make it easier to find things. Thanks Hmains 04:12, 9 May 2006 (UTC)

As you can see from other comments left for you, these are upsetting other editors who have been working to organise those subject areas. Most recently, you have been reorganising the Basque categories. These have been developed to be a generic category embracing Basque culture in France, Euskadi and Navarra, where appropriate, so any changes must leave that hierarchy intact, or improve it. There are already categories for Navarre and Euskadi which are subcats of the overall Basque category - you made it a parent category, which makes no sense of the hierarchy and does not reflect the fact that Navarrese and French Basque articles are included.
Could you please consider if you are the best person to be taking on such large reorganisation of category systems, rather than continuing to contribute through article creation? If you still want to make large changes to categories, perhaps you would consider discussing them first so that editors in those areas, such as myself in areas of Argentine and Basque interest, can give you our opinions? Thanks, Mtiedemann 19:49, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
- I subscrive this opinion by Mtiedemann. Are this changes in Basque and Catalan categories politically neutral? Besides it, I welcome your excellent editions in the Catalonia article. I hope you keep working like this! --Joan sense nick 14:43, 28 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Sevilla squad changes
Hi, I see you keep reverting the squad changes back to the no-links, bold "to" and "from" - version. As I've written in a few edit resumés, please see the Talk:Sevilla FC page as to the squad changes and lets have a debate on the subject there instead of tacit reverting. [edit] Portillo
We seem to have an issue on this. Portillo is not Spanish, although his father was. The category 'Spanish-British' carries no definition (and is therefore, (amongst other reasons), presently up for deletion). It would imply to the casual reader that the person thus categorised had dual nationality. Portillo doesn't. Therefore the category should not be used for him. Best regards --Smerus 14:59, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
- You wrote: 'You dont know one thing: this cat: category:Spanish-British people means: Spanish for his origin or ancestry; and british for his nationality. You dont understand it. Thus it is. You are the vandal. Rayse 17:09, 20 May 2006 (UTC)'.
- You are incorrect. Category:Spanish-British people contains no such definition. In fact it contains no definition at all. I suggest you take a moment to look once more at what a category is supposed to be in Wikipedia. In the meantime, you might also take a look at the rules on politnesess in Wikipedia. Because I disagree with you does not give you the right to call me a vandal. Best regards--Smerus 16:33, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] descent categories

[edit] Category:People by ethnic or national descent
instead of vandalising the page by removing the cfd tag, vote on Wikipedia:Categories for deletion to help save it! Mayumashu 01:30, 21 May 2006 (UTC)
- consider this an administrator warning not to remove cfd tags out of process as you did on Category:Argentine immigrants to Canada. Not only did you remove the cfd out of process, but you also de-categorized the category from its parents. Further disruption to XfD processes could lead to you being blocked from editing the encyclopedia. Syrthiss 12:50, 23 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Category:Brazilian Spaniards Category:Spanish-Brazilians
Spanish Brazilians are people who were born in Brazil, of Spanish descent; or people who came from Spain to Brazil to live and work. Brazilian Spaniards are people who were born in Spain, of Brazilian descent; or people who came from Brazil to Spain to live and work. This is a list of articles about such people. I don't think norminal people will known descent of Brazilian, unless by DNA test and find their gradfa is a Spanish or not. - ALBERT CELADES was born in Andorra but have Spain passport too.
- Useless you go to your nearest council to check the application policy, it is difficult to tell they got passport by Spanish descent and/or they notable, lived in Spain for years.

Thanks for uploading Image:BM Valladolid 2005-06.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the GFDL-self tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as article name or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. [edit] International Squad Templates
Just said I would tell you about this. A trend has started on wikipedia lately of doing each country's world cup squad going back for years. This is turning into a bit of a problem as certain players have played in numerous world cups. Just look at Paolo Maldini
My solution is redoing these international templates with a "Hide" features. I've done a very basic job on one of them below.

I'm not as yet able to add the country's flags or increase the size of the writing. I'm not able to change the colour of "Hide" either. Just wondering if you want to have a go at improving it so it can be used in articles ?
If you want to contribute please post your replies at the discussion section at Template:World Cup Squads as there could be a number of people contributing to this.
Thanks

[edit] Atleticopedia Project
Hello Raymond,
my name is André Kahle and I am the president of the Pena Atletica Centuria Germana, the german Atletico Madrid Pena. We work together with the site Atletico Zone, the international fan base of Atlético. We started a project called Atleticopedia and therefore I need your help. Maybe it is possible for you to give me your eMail Adress. My eMail is andre@atleticomadrid.de
It would be great to get in contact with you!
Thanks André Kahle
André Kahle, I feel thankful of your proposition, but i am not a great fan of Atletico de Madrid. My club in Real Madrid.
Thanks you. Greetings.
Well yes, I found that out, but that won't be a problem for me :) We are just bulding up a wiki about Atlético Madrid (http://wiki.atleticomadrid.de/en) but we are not so good in it ... ans thats why we looking out for people who might help us. (No adding content, but helping with the structure or the templates) And you looked perfect for that. :) Thats why I asked, but if you don't want to, or don't have the time, it is for sure no problem. But maybe you know somebody to help us?! André Kahle
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Cercanías Málaga.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Cercanías Málaga.gif. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: TemplateName
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --wangi 12:29, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
- Please do not remove the no licence notice on the image without adding a correct copyright tag (see Wikipedia:Image copyright tags). There is nothing on http://www.renfe.es/ releasing the image under a GFDL licence. Thanks/wangi 12:36, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] La Liga Results
Hi Raymond. I see you're putting up the results on a week by week basis for La Liga. Just saying that for Serie A, we're using a results box, as is being used for the Premier League.
Just thought it might be useful to also add the box to the La Liga 06/07 page to see results easier.
If you want to use it, I've put a blank copy of it on my home page.
Please not that the grid doesn't show up on my homepage, but will show up on the pages it is used on.
Thanks.

I am blocked. Betacommand, unblock me please, I will not return to vandalise.
Why did you continue to redirect pages and copy/paste them? Betacommand (talk • contribs • Bot) 20:13, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
I dont know, these teams name are wrong, i am from spain ,i know it, I come collaborating in wikipedia from 2004. Please. is the first time that happens to me.
- If you need to move pages there is a move tab at the top of the page. And if the target page exist let an administrator know so that we can delete the page that you are trying to move to. If you notice when you copy pasted the pages you took the credit from other wikipedians who wrote it and copy/pasted it as your own. To prevent this in the future please use the Move tab, or ask me or another admin. we are glad to help. Betacommand (talk • contribs • Bot) 20:26, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
But, why I am blocked?? Can you unblocked? please please...!!

Still I am blocked,, when I am unblocked?,,, please,, unblocked already,,, please please,my God!!!
Betacommand, i am repentanced, I ask pardon all the people
Betacommand, i show that i understand i did
- you say you understand what you did, but before you are unblocked please in your own words explain what you did and why you should not have done it. Betacommand (talk • contribs • Bot) 21:57, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
I did It because I thought that the names of the teams that I put were the correct ones, but if they not are , I request pardon. but if your you do not want to unblock to me, does not pass nothing., I have already said the causes to you, if you do not unblock to me I go away.
- I do not know if those are the proper pages or not. That is not why you were blocked. The reason that you were blocked was because of the fact that in attempting to change the page names you destroyed the page histories. and when I kindly pointed this out and asked you to stop you didn't. I then gave you a final warning and asked you to stop a second time, yet again you refused. That is why I had to block you. Betacommand (talk • contribs • Bot) 22:38, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Act josh childress.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Act josh childress.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
Replaceable fair use disputed
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Anyway, I wanted to branch each region from your post. The Catalunya region was started already, so I wanted to do the same for the others. Raul17 10:21, 29 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Under-23 players
Why are you removing the U-23 tags? Every team in the Segunda División B and the Tercera División must have six players aged under twenty-three years of age. my info is from 2006-2007Extra 2ªB y 3ª División published by Don Balon magazine page 9. Raul17 21:05, 31 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit]
Hi. Please don't forget to use instead of displayed spaces on the football squad templates. (See here.) I've noticed a few that you've missed. Laters! sʟυмɢυм • т • c 16:08, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sierra Nevada ski resort
Hi, Raymond. Regarding your change in the Spanish ski resorts template, it´s fine IF you intend to create the page about the Sierra Nevada Ski Resort. Otherwise you are substituting a good link by a red one... is that ok? Until you create the correct article, I´d suggest to keep the link, specially taking into account that you didn´t remove the template from the Sierra Nevada article. Let´s be coherent and organized in our edits, OK? David 11:28, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
- Ooops... in fact I see you moved all the resorts to ... Ski Resort! why??? that does not make sense at all!! see Courchevel or Tignes. See the Spanish version of the resorts... WHY? I see you are fond of unagreed massive changes. My fear is that the changes do not comply with Wikipedia standards. We don´t have articles about "Madrid city". What you did is in fact correct for Sierra Nevada because there is a mountain range and a ski resort of the same name... but... Alto Campoo??? there is nothing else called Alto Campoo except the ski resort. WHY Alto Campoo Ski Resort??? OMG! David 11:37, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
- The pages have been corrected, yes, I know how to do it. I didn´t spit on anybody, there is nothing offensive in the previous remarks. And we are suposed to talk in English here. Should I have to report THIS? David 14:41, 7 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Beni Arashiro: Spanish Japanese...
Beni Arashiro may have some Spanish descent, but it is not confirmed. If you have a reliable source stating that she is in fact Spanish and Japanese then please post it. Until then I will continue to remove the Spanish-Japanese category from her wiki. I've actually asked her before, and she says that she is Okinawan, White, and part Native American. From the looks of it she even appears to be Spanish, but there is still no source claiming this (everywhere else just says Japanese(Okinawan) and American) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Odyism (talk • contribs) 07:22, 11 February 2007 (UTC).
[edit] Category
I've notice that you've shifted Category:Political parties in Land of Valencia. Please note that such moves needs to be discussed at WP:CFD. There has been discussions previously whether the use the term 'Land of Valencia' or 'Valencian community', and thus such a move is not without political implications. --Soman 16:59, 14 February 2007 (UTC)
- I don't really have a problem with it, but for the sake of formality category moves should be brough up for discussion at WP:CFD. --Soman 17:06, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] PAGE MOVES (i.e. Region de Murcia)
Please be more careful in future and do not copy and paste articles as this is not OK as the edit history gets lost. If you need to have an article moved, please ask at WP:RM. You have been warned about this in the past. If the page move is not controversial, any admin would be happy to help you straight away. Thanks, Asteriontalk 00:07, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
