Calgary East is a federal electoral district in Alberta, Canada, that has been represented in the Canadian House of Commons from 1925 to 1953, 1979 to 1988, and since 1997. It is an urban riding in Calgary.

This riding was originally created in 1924 from East Calgary riding.
It was abolished in 1952 when it was redistributed between Calgary North, Calgary South and Macleod ridings.
It was re-created in 1976 from parts of Calgary North, Calgary South and Palliser ridings.
It was again abolished in 1987 when it was redistributed between Calgary Centre, Calgary Northeast, Calgary Southeast, Crowfoot and Calgary Southwest ridings.
This electoral district was again created in 1996 from Calgary Centre, Calgary Northeast, Calgary Southeast, and Wild Rose ridings.

- 1979-1984: John Kushner - Progressive Conservative
- 1984-1988: Alex Kindy - Progressive Conservative
- 1997-present: Deepak Obhrai - Reform (1997-2000), Canadian Alliance (2000-2003), Conservative (2003-present)
[edit] Current Member of Parliament
Its Member of Parliament is Deepak Obhrai, a former businessman. He was first elected in 1997. He was re-elected in 2000, 2004, and 2006. He represents the Conservative Party of Canada. He previously served as the Conservative critic for multiculturalism and was a member on the 'Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage'.
He is currently serving as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
