Carl Webb
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Carl Webb (born March 20, 1981 in Mount Isa, Queensland) is a rugby league player for the North Queensland Cowboys in the National Rugby League (NRL) competition.
After playing for the Toowoomba Clydesdales, Webb made his NRL debut for the Brisbane Broncos in 2000 against future club the North Queensland Cowboys. The next year he made his debut for Queensland and scored a very memorable State of Origin try on debut. Many pundits were lauding his skill, size and strength and that he was destined for higher honours, but a combination of inconsistent form and injuries saw him in and out of first grade until he was snapped up by the North Queensland Cowboys for the 2005 season.
In 2005 Webb started with all guns blazing for the Cowboys. His strong form forcing him once again into the Queensland State of Origin team. Injury sadly impeded his season and on top of that a suspension for punching was handed down, forcing him to finish his year on the sidelines.
