First Markham Place
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
First Markham Place is a shopping centre located in Markham, Ontario. It is located on the southeast side of York Regional Road 7 (Highway 7) and York Regional Road 8 (Woodbine Avenue). Beside First Markham Place, is the Woodside Mall.
First Markham Place, commonly known as just FMP by locals, has over 270 units of mini-shops and a large food court. Originally it had 5 large units, two of which were split into smaller units due to the lack of interest in renting such a large unit. Golf Town, Home Outfitters, and a Cineplex Odeon theatre now occupy the remaining three large units. Coincidentally all of the large units are operated by a publicly owned corporation contrary to the rest of the stores at First Markham Place which are mostly small self-employed businesses.
There are approximately 25 Chinese restaurants outside the food court. Contrary to many Chinese malls in the Toronto area, parking is not normally an issue; it has approximately 500 parking spaces with additional parking within walking distance at its neighbouring Woodside Mall.
