Garry Pelé Hobbs is a fictional character in BBC soap opera EastEnders. He is played by Ricky Groves, and made his first appearance on 18 September 2000.

Garry arrived in the square as Lynne Slater's boyfriend. They got married in 2001 (in a ceremony where he revealed his unusual middle name), despite Lynne finding out Garry had tried it on with her sister Kat and Garry finding out that Lynne had slept with Beppe di Marco.
Garry was horrified when married Laura Beale told him she had had a drunken one-night-stand with him resulting in pregnancy. Garry was so drunk he couldn't remember sleeping with her. Laura said the baby couldn't be her husband Ian's child because he'd had a vasectomy. Lynne was shocked when she heard this and didn't know if she could forgive Garry but they got back together in the end. Laura gave birth to a son, whom Garry named Bobby after the famous football player Bobby Moore. When Bobby had a blood test, Laura discovered his blood type was different from hers and Garry's meaning Ian's vasectomy hadn't worked and he must be the natural father. She decided not to tell Ian or Garry because Ian had looked down his nose on her and Bobby and she thought Garry would make a better dad. For nearly a year, Garry believed he was Bobby's father. When Laura fell down the stairs and died, Bobby came to live with Garry. After a while, even Lynne accepted Bobby as part of the family and when she became pregnant she looked forward to having a brother or sister for Bobby, but then Pat Evans found Bobby's birth certificate stating Ian as the father. Garry had become attached to Bobby and loved him as his own but was forced to hand him over to natural father Ian. Bobby now lives with Ian, girlfriend Jane and his half-siblings Peter and Lucy Beale.
Garry looked forward to the birth of his and Lynne's child. They knew it was to be a girl and named her Vivian, after Lynne's deceased mother. When a funfair ride fell down on a summer day, the stress caused Lynne to suffer a late miscarriage eight months in. On the day of the baby's funeral, Lynne moved away and divorced Garry. Garry was so devastated, he tried to take his own life only to be saved by best friend Minty Peterson. Garry then lived with Minty and Naomi Julien.
Garry is now sceptical about Minty's new found friendship with newcomer SJ Fletcher, who he thinks is a gold digger. This has caused many arguments between the friends, and resulted in Minty moving out.
He and Minty work as mechanics at the Arches. Their boss used to be Ian, once Garry's sworn enemy, but Phil Mitchell has since taken over. Eventually Minty saw sense when Garry led Minty to SJ who was in bed with Sid. SJ left with Sid and Minty has since returned to live with Garry and Naomi again.
