Whatever your claims, we are here to make the Regina Spektor as good and useful as we can possibly do, so that it may be (as many Wikipedia articles are) the best article available on the Internet about the subject. The lyrics website is the best and comprehensive that could be located and since her music is, by her own account, driven by its text, it is of signal importance that these texts be available in print form to the reader. If the site is commercial in nature, so be it; the value to the reader in adding to his/her knowledge about this artist and her work outweighs any qualms one may have about the site on which the lyrics appear. It would be most unusual if the artist (or any musical artist, for that matter) would object to the lyrics being linked (not reprinted) in her Wikipedia article. Your comment that one can find lyrics by doing a Google search is disingenuous because all of the links added to her Wikipedia page were painstakingly dug up and added in order to add to the article's usefulness. Of course they could all be deleted and Wikipedia readers could simply find all their own articles about her, but that would largely defeat the purpose of what the External links section is for. Hello. You've recently tried to have the members of Fall Out Boy merged into the main article. If I can recall correctly, this has been attempted in the past, and was not gone through with. Each of the members, esp. Pete Wentz, have extensive articles, and/or are notable on their own. I also ask why you removed the links from Pete Wentz that linked to his other ventures outside of Fall Out Boy, it is seeming that you are trying to make him appear NN. I'm not sure why you'd do that, or why you'd edit Wikipedia to influence your opinion, but I reverted the edit nonetheless. Although the lyrics are copyrighted, we deal with publishers to pay royalties. Even if a publisher for certain lyrics has not contacted us or responded to our attempts to contact (there are apparently hundreds if not thousands), they can at any time stake claims to their artists and we will track their work (and therefore the royalties). The publishers I've talked to so far don't seem to mind the delay before they find us since only us and two other sites even pay royalties at all (and we actively email publishers asking for lists of the songs they have rights to publish). So yes, 'tis legal

I am amused/alarmed to see that the war over two adjectives has elicited such melodramatic responses.

For fear of adding to the ridiculousness of the situation I will be brief.

I am a BBC journalist, and am well aware of the concept of objectivity in writing. And like many people, I have listened to ABBA since 1974. I have also followed public and critical opinion of them since then. And watched documentaries in which Benny, Björn, Frida and Agnetha discuss the music etc. There is no doubt that ABBA are widely seen as purveyors of uplifting, buoyant pop. But there is also more than occasional mention of the sad and melancholic strands in and aspects to their music/harmonies/melodies/individual voices. [they are from Sweden after all] A kind of joyous melancholy in the tradition of the Mamas & the Papas, the Beach Boys, the Hollies etc. I'm sure that a music theorist could back up what I, for the last week or so, have unsuccessfully been trying to put across in a single half-sentence. My controversial [to a few of you] Wikipedia words have been merely descriptive. I do not consider them the least bit conroversial or irresponsibly opinionated. They are certainly not 'first-person' in the way that much of the flowery and bloated language of ABBA's Wikipedia entry reads.

In my Edits I have identified several Google links to prove my point, but my efforts have been ignored by those who, I strongly feel, appear to be personalising the ABBA entry in a way that I find a bit scary, actually. From where I'm sitting it appears that this tiny, all-male ABBA revolt smacks of double standards and nerdy hypocrisy. As you should know by now, the website is loaded with examples of personal opinion doubling as received opinion and fact etc. And in most cases they are not wrong. They serve an adjectival, descriptive purpose. And on this occasion, 'melancholic' is not merely a personal opinion.

I do not know my way around Wikipedia beyond the basics, but I think it is almost worth taking the matter higher up. And how does one get the power to use those funny little Warning signs, I wonder.

However, you have confirmed my suspicions regarding the repeated removal of my half-sentence. You mention a 'consensus'. As far as I have noticed, there are merely a core few who have objected to my observation. I assume they are in fact different people, but whether or not they are, their number hardly constitutes what I would call a consensus. I have elicited laughter from several people when informing them of the extremist – and at times childishly worded – assaults on my ABBA contributions. And I know too many people who agree with the 'uplifting/melancholy' tag for me to allow a few hardcore – and perhaps philistine – bulllies to have their way. Happily, I have just noticed in the 'I'm Giving up on This Article' section that an anonymous person has called 'uplifting but melancholic' a "great description of ABBA's music".

The real issue here appears to be one of control, which is obscuring the more vital point involving a broadly accepted view about the true nature of the ABBA sound.

Greetings! I assume you've seen the problems for the GTA 4 image, and was wondering if you could quickly tell me what's wrong with the source "taken from the E3 website during the convention."? Yeah, usually with images from websites the url is given. I think you already found the actual person that took the photo? You said "copyright is held by 'Jordan, IGN, Microsoft'". If that's the photographer that's great, although you might want to state it more clearly. I think with the source url and fair use claim everything should be ok though. OK, about using minor edits warning you explained. I need help with User:Tajik, who is repeatedly vandalizing my hard work on Afghanistan's article. He wants to remove all the major Encycolpedia sources I attached to my edits and refuses to accept that Mahmud Ghaznavi was born in Ghazni, which is in present-day Afghanistan. Every Encyclopedia states that he was, every source related to Afghanistan says he was, in fact, even his tomb or grave is still there. Meaning that Mahmud Ghaznavid is burried there until now. I have no idea why this User:Tajik wants to deny this? Please help me stop this person from destroying my hard work that I did on Afghanistan's article. The council expired one month ago, but due to the current position of the group the current council will remain until the position of the group can be assessed, and whether it would be sensible to keep Concordia going. For most decisions, however, it will be decided by all who choose to partake in discussions. I am trying to relaunch because of the vast amounts of new members we have received, demonstrating that the aims are supported.
